I am so happy for everyone that passed but i keep saying to myself "why couldn't that be me?" It just kills me to think i have failed Nclex RN twice and others take it one time and pass. I have been studying using Suzanne's plan this time and i'm scheduled to retest next month. Please throw some good vibes my way cos i need all the help i can get.
Any other 2nd and 3rd time test takers out there?
Hello hello,Tell me about "Suzanne's plan." I keep seeing it, this gal needs to calm down, clamp down and maybe get back into the routine...kinda grumpy about NOT passing, threw me off hardcore!!!!

Her plan is free, but you have to follow it to the letter. That means no short cuts.
I would advise doing 100 practice questions a day for 30 days from Saunder's book (that's the same book she uses) so you will have 3000 questions under your belt. It will help you get into the rhythm of these types of questions. It's also important to analyze WHY you got a question wrong. You want to understand if there's a pattern or if it's the same type of question. Usually most people get thrown by the priority questions (who do you see first or which call do you return first). Also, ask yourself: does the question ask you to assess or implement? If you are called on to assess, then look over the answers. Which ones are implementations? Eliminate those. Then if you are left with 2 assessments, ask yourself, are any of them part of the ABC's (Airway, breathing and circulation). Those will always be ahead of any psycho or social needs. On the other hand, if an assessment has already been determined, what answer choices are implementations? Look at those answers and decide. In general, treat the patient first and do the equipment 2nd. (For example, you could fix a med pump, but it's more important to remedy the patient!) The last piece of advice: take your time on the first 6 questions. You want to get a good start to raise above the "pass" line. If you rush through the first several questions, you could be blowing it and end up under the pass line and it will be more challenging to rise above it.
Do practice questions untimed at first to get the hang of it. Then try them on a timed basis once you understand the content and the strategy. It helps to do at least 3000 questions (100 questions/day). It's not a cram the night before and take the test the next day for the NCLEX. You can do it! Good luck!
i glad i found this site, i feel the same way i took the exam march 7,2006 fail 75 took it again november 21,2007 fail again, so i was a very depressed and wanted to quit, but my husband doesn't let me, i am starting on suzanne's plan and my friend purchase helen feur and is lending my the cd's to listen, i hope this time around i pass, i have a contract with the hospital and i feel so depressed about not passing it's a horrible feeling, i feel better now and i am ready to start suzanne's plan, any suggestions?
Hey,
Don't give up. Its good that you have such good support from your husband, that helps. I took the NCLEX sept 21st and failed. I never heard of suzanne's plan but what I took was a kaplan course and found it to be very confident building. I took it again on friday and I passed. No matter how depressed you get, quit shouldn't be in your vocabulary. No matter how depressed I got, I never thought that. Even after the test on friday, I started crying in the bathroom at the testing site bc I thought I failed but i still never had the thought that I would never take it again. PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP. If I can do it so can you I'm glad you feel better.
I failed the 2nd time in Nov., which I thought for sure I had pass but I got the results and my heart sank. Meeting with others to study did not work for me but I needed help.I decided to look for solutions on the internet. Anything. I came across Nclex sites that were to costly. To take another test and fail would set me back financially because I have to fly out to Honolulu and stay at a hotel and not to mention the cost of the nclex exam. I prayed for answers and I guest I was guided to this site. I started reading the PMs and found it up lifting to know that I wasn't alone. Now I'm hooked.
My heart goes out to everybody and thank you for your tips and comments. I'm now trying Suzane's Plan but I have to juggle studying with work. I am a full time LPN so it will take me a while to complete it. I haven't applied to retake it yet until I am very ready. Cause I'm scared. Hopefully I can do this by the Summer.
Aloha and Mahalo to everybody.

It is hard while working full-time but we must just put our trust and faith in our Master Maker and organize ourselves to study. We became LPN's and will obtain RN licensure also.
thank you for your kind words, i am doing suzanne's plan which is doing the quiz on the saunders comprehensive review and if i do not get a 75% first time then read chapters and re do the quiz and make sure it's 90% the second time i take it, then pm her and she will tell the next step of her plan i have been reading the threads and it's worked for lots of people, so i am going to try and i my friend is lending me her helen feur cd's after i do suzanne's plan so i help this helps me, thank you for your support
Good luck to you! I took the test 3 times before I finally passed on the 4th. The thing that made a difference for me was... Suzanne's program (Followed to a T), and some antianxiety medication, plus using earplugs at the test site. I also went to a different test location.Take your time and just remember that it can be done! You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Hi there,
I am going to be taking this exam for the fifth time and very frustrated and wondering if it is possible to study all this stuff again. I am doing the last final chapters of Suzanne's first tip. Will test the end of March. I really wonder why I can't get this. I graduated 6/06 , I was a good student in school, all my classmates have done it. This just has to be my turn this time.

Hi there, I took this exam 6 times and now im studying to do it for the 7th time. I was so upset after I got my results last time, that I told my husband that is it, i'm done. But he told me to keep on going. I don't know, I don't think i can take another "Fail" again. I graduated nursing school in 1991 in ukraine and I passed the boards there from the first time. Hopefully this time will the last time.

thank you for your kind words, You need to just stay calm, clamp down and get back on track, and yes we all get grumpy about not passing but thank god that there is some really good tips on this website and nice people in the same boat, wish you well and suzanne's first tip is to take the quiz in the sanders comprehensive review and make sure you score 75%, if you do proceed to the next chapters if not read that chapter and make sure you score 90% after reading the chapter finish the book and the pm her and she will tell you the next step, good luck
Yes...THANK U that there a few of us in this BOAT!!!! I rocked in school, and in clinicals, but when tests came along, my anxiety was worst than labor pains...I learned how to manage it. I passed my LPN 1st try, no worries, but this NCLEX-RN is really a bugger to me. I know my stuff, but..... what is it???
I'll be hitting my various books and nail it this time.
Good luck to all and blessings!!!
cheers,
