Any 2nd or 3rd time test takers?

Published

I am so happy for everyone that passed but i keep saying to myself "why couldn't that be me?" It just kills me to think i have failed Nclex RN twice and others take it one time and pass. I have been studying using Suzanne's plan this time and i'm scheduled to retest next month. Please throw some good vibes my way cos i need all the help i can get.

Any other 2nd and 3rd time test takers out there?

I took my exam the 2nd time last Dec. 7. Cali already updated their site and I did not see my name. Everyone I know who passed saw their name within 4 days, not calculating weekends. I guess I didnt make it again. I already went to the library today and I cant seem to think very well.

I hope to hear encouraging words from anyone out there reading this. I have prayed a lot and studied a lot. Church was part of my everyday. I don't know what happened.

I had 265 qs. Last qs was application/priority assessment. 9 SATA, 5 calculations, lots of priority, delagation, assignment, teaching. Seems higher learning and last qs seems to be a good sign, but may have failed again.

Dont know what else to do ...:o

Don't rush and panic, give it a bit longer, some have posted that they have received letters before seeing their name on website

thank you silverdragon. i truly appreciate your comment. that would be nice if that is the case, but this is the 2nd time i took the test and i thought i would get a passed letter. after 16 days of waiting ... it was failed. my file is complete, transcript and all plus i have called before and verified this so i am pretty sure. my name should show up. there is no reason why it wouldnt.

thanks anyway for your advice. i wish what you're saying is true.

Yep! - You are not alone. I gradated in June took the test at the end of July received all 265 and failed (I have to say I was frustrated when I got all 265 and lost my focus towards the end. I was not shocked when I did not pass though. So I re-took 45 days later in September and recd 75 questions, felt great when I walked out but failed again - was totally shocked but thankfully not many new I had taken it again so I did not have to face them. I took a review course and then just re-took for the 3rd time in December I received 265 again I felt strong and guess what - I failed again!!!! - I have been near passing in every category so at this point I do not even know what to do differently. I am happy or proud that I have to take it for the 4th time not to mention the cost. But I guess I have to just do more questions and improve my scores. I am going to request to see copies of my test from the Board. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks

Sorry to hear this. Check out Suzanne's plan. Thread can be found as a sticky 'New revised first tip Suzanne's plan' it is free and many pass with it. You must follow it as it is written and you will do well.

Good luck

i hear you ... loud and clear.

Does the board really allow us to see copies of our nclex exam?

According to the people at Pearson Vue it depends on your state. I am in Ohio and I waiting on a response. I also heard that they will charge you a fee of $300 - $500 and will not give you rationale. Of course I am not willing to pay that but I am going to try.

Well I took the plunge this month and took the NCLEX exam.

This may sound strange to you but the exam questions seemed very easy and yet I am posting on this thread and you know what that means. I only recvd 75 questions and spent 1 hr 20 minutes -SATA at least 10-12, math IV 7 questions of which I'm not good at so I know all those were a no go and 3 regular dosage calculations I'm sure those were correct along with numerous drug questions.

My exam covered peds, lots of insulin related, renal, care of client once home, OB,OB, every 3 questions OB my worst subject, and delegation.

I did not do alot of study very little in fact since graduation due to the tremendous amount of family difficulities and tragadies, its a wonder I made it through RN program but I slide by with a 3.87. Can't tell by my NCLEX scores.:nono: My official results state I was near passing in almost every subject except three of those ;two I was above on , and below on the third. Oh yeah, not sure if it really made a difference but since the last semester of clinicals I could only work 8 days in month once I graduated I went to work full force 8-14 hour days.

So I plan to use Suzannes plan and some of the tips I recvd from the post throughout this amazing site. Since I believe I'm already an RN and so are all of you that complete RN program. We just need our license to practice you know making it official:balloons::balloons:

Last December 20 is my 3rd time taking NCLEX-RN. Took 2 265 questions previously. I was answering so fast on thef irst 2. I tried to answer questions within 1 minute cuz i am so scared that I will ran out of time! that made my answers on the nearly passing standard. I have no idea what type of medications are given. After the test, all I can remember is exhaustion. 5hrs 59 mins...sigh...This time what I did, I still didnt memorize all the drug trade names. I memorized all the generic names of those drugs that are frequently used. What it does. Food interaction to that drugs. That helped me. OLOL, PRIL, PRINE ETC...so Quinine what does it do.I do bring a book wherever I go so when ever i get the time or while waiting for the bus or at the grocery stand, I try to answer questions and read its rationales..hmmmmm ...I spent 5-10 minutes answering each questions (yeah really!) weighing each choices. Talking to myself like hmm what am I gonna feel when im hungry (Hypoglycemia for example). I feel a little crazy but hey i dont wanna take it for the 4th time. So i dont care that time if I will ran out of time, what matters most is i am doing my best to answer each questions as correctly as I can. If i dont know the answer to the scenario, i look on the questions, see inconsistencies, and I go to the most different answer amongst the other selection. My test turned off at 77 questions. And today I found out at www.rn.ca.gov that I passed! what a great Christmas gift!!!! My technique worked for me.
