I am so happy for everyone that passed but i keep saying to myself "why couldn't that be me?" It just kills me to think i have failed Nclex RN twice and others take it one time and pass. I have been studying using Suzanne's plan this time and i'm scheduled to retest next month. Please throw some good vibes my way cos i need all the help i can get.
Any other 2nd and 3rd time test takers out there?
:welcome:
Good luck to you! I took the test 3 times before I finally passed on the 4th. The thing that made a difference for me was... Suzanne's program (Followed to a T), and some antianxiety medication, plus using earplugs at the test site. I also went to a different test location.Take your time and just remember that it can be done! You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I know how you feel. I took the test Tuesday, and got my results yesterday. I failed for the second time. I have cried nonstop for a day and a half. I even called in sick to work, and that is not like me. Now what? I am going to work in an hour, and I can't even stand the thought of facing everyone. UGH... THIS TOO SHALL PASS...I am eligible to try again Dec 15... I am sooo nervous and really, I may just wait until after the holidays. Christmas is my favorite time of year, so I'm just not sure what to do. My husband has been so supportive, as my friends and family have, but I FEEL SO DUMB. And I know its not so.
ANY help, support, advice is greatly appreciated.
BUT we will make it through. We will be RN's... It will happen.
THANKS... And GOOD LUCK...
Lori
You are not dumb. They need to incorporate a nursing class entitled how to master nursing exams from another planet. IMHO
What do you do when nothing has gone as you had planned? Adjust your plans and get going again.
What can be done when problems and interruptions have drained away most of the time in your day? Step back and smile, knowing that you're wiser and more determined than ever to move forward.
For you've just experienced how precious your time can be, and realized how quickly it can slip by. Allow that realization to sharpen your focus, and then aim that focus on where you intend to go.
What's done is done. You are where you are.
The worst thing you can do is to fret about the time that's been wasted, for that will only add to the loss. The best thing you can do is to get up and get going again, with a fresh determination to make real progress.
Move beyond the time you've lost, and make use of the time you have. You'll soon be so far ahead that your little setback will quickly be forgotten.
Such needed words of wisdom
Don't Quit
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow -
You might succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup.
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt -
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

hi, i enrolled in kaplan complete course and i took nclex-rn for the first time 3 days ago, and i failed. and right now i am rocking my head on what study plan to follow and what review book to use etc... for there are so many to choose from... for those who passed i wonder what was your plan that worked for you. thanks.
sorry to hear you didn't pass. i thought you nailed it but dont be discouraged by it. You can do it next time. take some time off. i am following suzzane's plan right now but i get mixed messages that kaplan is best. i have until 21st..... so dont know what to do myself. i am liking suzzane's plan until now but i wonder where my critical thinking level is right now?? saunders are straight knowledge type questions. so i dont know, i am on the same boat as you.
Hey Everyone!
i passed on my third try! Followed Suzanne's plan! i was quite nervous but i did no studying a day before and instead went for a facial and haircut and movie, and the day before after i had closed the books for good, i called in a massage! it is a relief to finally get this exam out of the way!
i did do a lot of deep breathing during the exam and a few times put my head down and took 5 - 10 min naps just to relax. it stopped at about 140 questions.
Good luck to everyone else out there!
