Any Miami Dade College students going for the acceler. or Generic option fall 2009?

I am currently at Miami Dade College fulfilling prerequisites in order to apply for the Nursing program that starts fall 2009. I'd like to be in touch with other career changers who after getting a bachelor's in a non-nursing field decided to pursue the program at Miami Dade College.

Did you guys get that scholarship thingy by Dawn Diamond? I was so excited, I thought it was like official I got accepted but at the end it says:

PLEASE NOTE: The final dreams for admissions to the Nursing Program have not been accomplished. This letter is not notification of admission to the program.

It's an info session for scholarships or something, on June 16 at 5:30. Who else got the email and is going???

No, don't be sad tatortots. It isn't an official thing or anything... it's supposed to be about scholarships or something like that... probably no big deal, really--I thought it was official too but then I saw the bottom and I was like, "aw shucks".

Well by experience I tell you most likely you guys are in, in the last 3 semesters the people that got the e-mail of the letter of the scholarship are in. It looks like this time I am out of the selection again but congrats to all of the one's that are in!!!!!!!!!:sniff::eek:

Those who received emails would you please let us know your GPA's and what program you applied to.

I refuse to be excited until I am in class on the first day. BTW I am applying for the LPN-Bridge and have a 3.74 GPA.

Dont put all of your eggs in one basket. Dont rely on MDC only. Explore other options of your RN dreams.

Wow!! A 3.78 GPA is excellent. I dont know what the "cut-off" is going to be for programs but you have a great chance of getting in. MDC is so hard to get into. Have you applied to any other schools?

My GPA is high for the transitional which historically accepts students with lower GPA's. But like I said before I am not getting my hopes up and will not be truly excited until the first day of class.
