Any Miami Dade College students going for the acceler. or Generic option fall 2009?

Published

I am currently at Miami Dade College fulfilling prerequisites in order to apply for the Nursing program that starts fall 2009. I'd like to be in touch with other career changers who after getting a bachelor's in a non-nursing field decided to pursue the program at Miami Dade College.

Thanks for your interest!

Olofin,

U just made my stomach hurt :-( ..................................

R u serious ???? ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

and no word from MDC yet ..........................I dk what to do i want to be a nurse so bad .........

Just keep on trying, we will make it in sooner or later:selfbonk:

Olofin,

My friend checked her email and she also got that "rejection email" :banghead:

so shen made a post on another forum that if you got an email re: nursing scholarships, its a sign you're in. I did not get one, but if you did, can you note what program you applied for and gpa so we can get a sense of who is getting it?

thanks

I got that email today too, but I really don't think it means a heck of a lot. I have a 3.6 as far as the nursing program is concerned (for the 5 science classes), but a 4.0 overall at MDC. I'm applying for both Accelerated & Generic

hey jenn thanks for replying but now I am confused! what 5 science classes are ya referring to? anatomy 1 and 2 and what else? cuz isn't it just anatomy 1 and 2 and any other 3 courses you want (for non generic)? is that what you have a 3.6 in?

what do you mean you have a 4.0 at miami dade but 3.6 science? sooo confused  :crying2:

3.6 for the 15.0 hours of science/ math classes for the accelerated option. I have overall 4.0 at Miami Dade (i'm taking pre-reqs to get BSN & applying to other schools as well). I had 3.2 for my undergrad BS degree.

Hi there,

How is the program going for you? I am interested in applying for the part time generic but wondering how the schedule for classes is and if it would be possible to even work. Please let me know because MDC wont tell me!!!

Are you referring to the bridge program when you say less people applied?

I don't necessarily think its a sign you're in . It specifically says that admission is not determined at the bottom of that page. I did receive the email & letter from them for the scholarship invitation. I applied for Full-time generic option for spring. My GPA at the moment is 3.69, should be going up to 3.73 after this semester. Hope that helped.

it usually is a sign you are in. I can tell you that because all the studrnts who get that are the top picks for the program. I got one and got accepted. I have never heard of someone getting that letter but not getting in. I know what it says on the bottom....but I just think that's done for a just in case purpose. Either way its a relief to know that you are some of the top picks. That's how it has been done in the past.

Okay guys. A few people have gotten letters. So selections were made. Jessica, so the scholarship email is a "go"? I was reading a few posts from Ymarti that if you're invited then you're safe. There are plenty of students that got the email. Did you apply for the scholars program? If so, how is it?
