I am currently at Miami Dade College fulfilling prerequisites in order to apply for the Nursing program that starts fall 2009. I'd like to be in touch with other career changers who after getting a bachelor's in a non-nursing field decided to pursue the program at Miami Dade College.
Thanks for your interest!
if you received the RSVP email, you should have received a letter as well...most likely...it does not make sense if your received one and not the other, because the email/letter are both identical.
so how many slots are there for the Spring 2010 class...do the Generic Full-Time & Accelerated programs have different slots...like 100 students for Gen-FT & 100 for Accelerate?...is that how it works?
guys i got my rejection letter... Good luck to u all. am still not sure if i want to apply next fall. hope u all gat a big yellow envelope :]
Don't stop trying, if it's something you really want to accomplish!
I know there's a lot of craze right now to get into nursing because of job stability and good salaries, etc....but honestly, the money will soon drop because the market will equalize once all these new nurses hit the market...it has already happened with Home Health nurses...the Government is cracking down on all that fraud...salaries and bonuses will stabilize as the Government comes in and negotiates terms with hospitals and doctors...everyone in the healthcare system will be affected, including nurses....so if you hear of anyone that mentions "the good money" in nursing...that will eventually come to and end...remember, nursing, like police, firefighters, government...these are all "service" professions, they are subject to what the government, hospitals or insurances are willing to pay for that service.
The reason to go into nursing is because you have a true and altruistic love for taking care of the sick, elderly, children, etc.
So don't stop trying, if it is something you truly want to do.
don't mean to sound to forward...keep your chin up
