Any Miami Dade College students going for the acceler. or Generic option fall 2009?

I am currently at Miami Dade College fulfilling prerequisites in order to apply for the Nursing program that starts fall 2009. I'd like to be in touch with other career changers who after getting a bachelor's in a non-nursing field decided to pursue the program at Miami Dade College.

because their program admission isn't as logical.. as it should be. olofin, what did she exactly say regarding the cut off... what were her literal words? you first said "it looks like it is going to be the same" then you said "its almost the same" those are different things..

sadly wht I think Olofin means is 3.8 and up.. the only variable is that if for example they stopped at 120 and you're 121 with a 3.79.. then you have chance to make it in if someone that was accepted rejected their seat. ..has anyone heard any news on the letters?????? :confused:

yeah I called yesterday and they said they wouldn't send out applications until the end of the month? (previously they told me we'd hear by mid-october) and wouldn't connect me to an adviser (: the worst was last week when I got connected to the adviser and the adviser said "hold one minute" and then connected me to her voicemail!

last time I am calling. I guess its hard on both ends since everyone is driving them crazy but meanwhile we're going crazy.

maybe they're waiting for some definitive details like how many seats they are gonna accept, etc... I mean maybe they aren't entirely sure what the cutoff is? I have bare threads of hope.

I am sorry I don't mean to laugh but let me get it out this one good time "jajajajajajajajjajaja" okay I am going to get myself together and act serious WTH?? She transferred u to her v-mail (laughing inside again) !!!!!

I can't apply till May cause I want part time program but all i can do now is just laugh laugh laugh................... because if it even remotely turn my smile into a frown i might need medication for "DEPRESSION" .......

I am sad for all of us who trully want to get in. I researched other nursing schools in other states and some go as far as saying "OUR NURSING program is NON COMPETITIVE" meaning once your pre-req's are done you automatically can start. As it should be i mean dont WEAN me out before I even begin. Wean ppl out while in the program bcz that's when the REAL TEST starts..........

Nooooooooo OLOFIN1,

Remember I can only go to school PART TIME so I am just going to take a few classes here and there in order to raise my GPA and just reapply in May. I have my REJECTION/ROLLOVER letter to send in before May in order to be considered for the FALL...........But trust and believe i get all the responses and I am ROOTING for everyone. I know you said u applied to BCC when do you hear from them?

I had a thought over the weekend. MDC is just going to MILK me to continue to take classes (that I dont need) just so i can raise my Overall-GPA so they can turn around and REJECT ME !!!!!!!!!!!! ughhhhhhhhhhhhh

I am not given up though.................

and here I thought my 3.53 would get me in ..................I feel like i have an F at this point with my gpa lol

Don't feel that way, 3.5 is a good GPA just not good enough for them, I don't really understand, anyway if you graduate with a 3.5 or more GPA in any other college you are consider a honor student. I did apply for BCC and today when I check the e-mails I also had a reply from a Bcc forum here at Nursing.com someone just got the acceptance e-mail, yes they notified you via e-mail very convenient.

Well I just got an answer from BCC (application status NOT ACCEPTED). I am about to die this is incredible:barf02:. I think I will be a nurse with a walker and no dentures by the way I am going. Will I ever get accepted any were? This is getting more difficult than to get to med school.
