Just out of curiosity

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

I have a close friend who became an LPN after having earned a BS degree in public health many years ago. Her undergraduate GPA of 2.5 rendered her a noncompetitive applicant for Accelerated BSN degree programs, so she enrolled in a community college LPN program and later completed the LPN-to-RN transition (ASN degree) program.

Specializes in LTC.

There are loads of LPNs with bachelor's degrees. My degree is in Spanish. I taught Spanish in public schools, grades K-12, for 13 years. The background in teaching, education, and language communications has huge application in nursing, although it doesn't register with human resources!

I have a BS degree in agronomy. After working 30+ yrs as a field biologist in production agriculture, I decided it was time to hand over the reins to the younger folks just out of college. I went back to school in my mid-fifties (4 yrs ago) and got my vocational nursing license. I was on track to do an RN bridge, when last summer, two of my good friends retired!

WTH was I thinking? Starting over again at 60, having to do time working nights, med-surg...no thanks.

I've got a great (benefited, permanent FT) job working urgent care. Wouldn't change it for the world! I can see myself in my current position for 4 more years and 1 month. I'll be 65 then, and that's when I'm planning to retire and working only PT per-diem, if at all. We'll see!

Specializes in hospice.

Not yet but I will be. BA in political science from 17 years ago and currently awaiting entry to LPN program.

Specializes in LTC.

I have a BA in English. I realized as I was finishing the degree that while I love writing, I didn't want to make that my full time job. So went to nursing school because I loved my summer job as a CNA.

I have a BA in an unrelated field. LVN since 2011, expected to complete ADN/RN in 2016. Hoping BSN completion in 2017.

I have BS in business and have been and LPN for a year now and starting on my RN. The best the decision I have made. Everyday like a new page from an on-going story. lol

I had a Bachelors of Computer Science, been lpn for 2 years and hopefully i could do nursing informatics.

I have a MA in Organizational Management and will be starting a LPN program this October! I currently work for a public school system! Can't wait to become a LPN!

I was an LPN with a previous Bachelors. I became an RN and I'm using my BA to obtain my MSN through Excelsior College.
