Any CrossFit-ing nursing students out there?

Published

Hey guys! I see alot of you mention CrossFit from time to time in posts related to nursing and just wanted to know who my fellow CrossFitters are! :) if you can and would like to I'd love to know what box you attend, how long youve been CrossFitting, or if you do it on your own what program you follow!

Thanks guys!.

I have never done Crossfit, but I currently do the Insanity Workout program and also go to the gym. I still workout during nursing school, It's my stress reliever!!! I compare it to the nursing students who smoke during our breaks ...However I deal with my sttress in a much more healthier way:sneaky:

I love fitness and I love being active!

For sure - If I didn't lift weights I'd be a nursing school mess. Last semester I would even test myself between sets of lifts using our white board haha! It really helped with knowing my ranges for fluids/and respiratory.

Another non-CrossFit-er but weight lifter. I compete in powerlifting so that's what I do. Working nights the past 2.5 years really messed with my consistency and I'm hoping nursing school helps with that. Go figure, right?

I'm a fellow crossfitter (-: I live in georgia, & I've been crossfitting for almost a year.. I just started my second week of nursing school, my school schedule combined with being a mom is pretty demanding! Since I'm familiar with a lot of the movements I asked the trainers if I could come in and do the workouts on my own-- unless I needed help of course.. I love crossfit & really hope I can keep going while in school esp since I've never been in better shape!

Not an official cross fitter but I include a ton of it in my workouts! I do that and a ton of TRX. I'm into Tabata/HIIT style training. I couldn't do all this stress without my training schedule, I'd go crazy!

Started about two months ago at a place in Chicagoland. Loving it so far! Great community. What are your favorite and most hated skills?

I love snatch and HATE burpees.

I don't Crossfit, but I'm a heavy lifter. I love it! It's such a challenge (physically AND mentally) and it's done amazing things for my body.

I'm in the middle of the New Rules of Lifting for Women program (and I work with a trainer) and it's been a a great experience. I might try Crossfit when I'm finished with my programs in December.

At the moment in struggling with getting to the gym as often as I want to because I'm so tired from school! I was hoping this semester wouldn't screw me up, but I'm only two weeks in and I'm back to giving into the junk food that's all around and telling myself I don't have time to work out. Sigh.

That's why I started the HIIT, because I have no time and it's FAST!

This is so funny bc I HATE snatches and love burpees!

I'm a fellow Crossfitter here in Colorado. The box I go to just celebrated there 1 year anniversary. I've been crossfitting for 7 months. I LOVE crossfit. It really helped me release anxiety during nursing school. I have faithfully gone 5 mornings each week even with school work or studying for the board. It's definitely functional movement used in my nursing job.

Non-crossfitter, but....

I am an ex-trainer who LOVES to lift. I lift 3 days a week and heavy also. I love running and do incorporate HIIT into my runs 3 days a week also, plus regular runs 3 days a week. I don't do crossfit because I have a full gym in my basement and just can't justify spending money on something I already know how to do.

But, I'm paleo which is one of the most important parts of crossfit. I recommend it.
