Hi, I'm a first semester student at CLC and would love to meet others to chat about a variety of topics!!!
i'm kind of depressed today. i dropped microbiology because i've had some family circumstances come up that really prevent me from going to school right now. i didn't really want to do it but it seemed like the only way. i'm supposed to be in my second semester of nursing right now, and i decided to wait until the spring to do that. now i don't know when i'm going back! i've been going to clc since 2004. i just want to have my rn degree and start working as a nurse!!! this is taking forever!!! thanks for "listening" to me vent.
try to get back to 172 in the spring and then take micro w/ me in the summer! :)
Anyone else get their results from the NLN?? We got ours. I did a little worse than my first on - 93 this time. My daughter got a 79 so it isn't looking too good for her.
Sorry...been out of town. Just got back today.
I have to say, my plan to take the test to improve on my score WORKED!!!!!
I was very confident in Math & Science, but not Language. For AD, I got 61 in Verbal (ugh), 94 in Math and 97 in Science!!! SO.....I GOT A COMBINED PERCENTILE OF 92!!! Composite score of 133. I am VERY happy with this score and would be VERY surprised if I didn't get into the program with it.
I'm sorry to hear that your daughter didn't do better, but she just needs to keep trying. Like I said, I just kept trying and improved each time. I bet she'll do a lot better next time (and FYI, she did better than I did on my first two tests!) Good luck to her in the future!!!

Oh, I know what you mean - I've been going since 2004 as well. And have had to make changes along the way. You'll get there...I know you will!!! Maybe you can do Micro next Summer? It'll be crazy, but if you can swing it...

awesome! you got a 92? you're a shoe in!!!!!!!!!!! if you want nights i would suggest calling the director to ask how you can ensure that you'll get the nights. if you take days....take janet racina. she's great!

well, i plan on signing up right away. i should be able to sign up a week before those who are not taking a class. i think i should be ok to get night classes, no? i have to have nights because i work days, so i don't have a choice!
Once you get your acceptance letter I'd contact the director. I've heard there are alot of competion for spots. Also, if you don't get nights your first semester you need to continue w/ days throughout the program. I'm on days so it didn't matter for me, but if it's crucial for you I'd ask the best route.
I never had a problem signing up for night classes. It's true that there can be competition for those spots, but I was fine, and our evening class even had one empty spot when all was said and done. I work every day at a computer, so I set a reminder for 8am on the day that priority registration opens up so that I can go on and sign in right away. Good luck!

Yes, I need to be in the night classes or else I'd have to wait til the NEXT semester to start again. I will contact them just in case I suppose...just to make sure. But I want to say I've heard in the past that basically it's first come/first serve.

Do you know if there is a specific time that the registration actually begins? I was thinking maybe I'd stay up the night before and at midnight, I'd sign up for the class, but if it doesn't open til the next morning, then I don't want to waste my time trying to sign up for it!
OK...ANOTHER QUESTION...
What can I expect when I get an acceptance letter? I have heard you have to sign something...do I have to pay something right away, paperwork to fill out? Just wondering what I can expect so I can be prepared!
Thanks,
Lori
I don't remember what exactly came in the letter, but I think there was something I had to send back, accepting the seat for the program.
8am is the time that registrations begin, that's why I set my reminder for that time, so I can get on and be one of the first to sign up. I think I had a problem the first time I tried to sign-up, where they didn't have me in the system, but since I found that out at 8am that morning, I just called admissions and it got fixed right away.
It was easy.
