Any CLC students to start a forum?

Published

Hi, I'm a first semester student at CLC and would love to meet others to chat about a variety of topics!!!

Thanks everyone. I was going to go and walk my confirmation in today, but of course, my daughter got sick and I couldn't even go to class.

Has anyone taken the required Healthcare provider CPR yet? I have to and I am not sure where to go to do that.

I have already made an appointment with my primary care dr for physical and immunizations. Is there anything else that I am missing?

I really feel like I am in good company for spring-we all seem very commited to becoming nurses, as shown by our highest test scores in three years. Awesome ladies!! Well sick daughter calling-gotta go

Heather

I took it last year - they offer it at CLC and there should be one coming up in November. Check the online registration...PILH or something weird like that...it has four letters because it is not a credit class. I'll find it and forwar it onto you, but it was like $50 or something like that.

Hi CLC nursing students....now that I can officially call you that!! Just wanted to drop in and say congrats. I try to follow some of the illinois posts and am glad your letters have rolled in and to hear the good news!!

Congratulations!!

Thank you so much!!!

I took my cpr class through the american heart association because it is good for two years. You can go to the website and find locations and phone numbers.

This is who CLC goes through...mine is good for two years and is from the American Heart Association as well.

Hi everyone! I just learned about this group during my A&P class this morning. In fact, I think I know some of you - Diedre, I think you're in my A&P class! Also, Heatherbear, are you who I think you are? Was I the one who told you about the stethescope/BP kit at the bookstore? I think so!!

I also have been accepted into the program for Spring '08. I am SO excited and anxious to start. I plan on doing days also.

Congrats to all those who made it in! I am sure we are going to enjoy a fun and exciting journey together!!

Colleen - Congrats on getting in!!! :balloons:

Can we start this journey now - I am SOOOOO ready!

Thanks Diedre, and congrats to you as well! Was I right? Are you in my class?

BTW, I totally feel for you with the situation with your daughter. I cannot imagine how hard it must be for you to be excited about this step in your life, while trying to help your daughter deal with the disappointment she is facing. It will probably be better in the long run if you are not going through this together though. I think the competition that inevitably would come up would be pretty tough to handle. This way you can be super supportive of her when her turn comes (plus give some great advice!).

Colleen - yep it's me!!

Thanks for the support. It's hard, but we'll get through it. I had to do the happy dance and run and scream through the house before she got off work! My son and I were dancing on the coffee table - luckily he's a good secret keeper, so she doesn't know. We even had celebratory pizza! Yum!

I do feel bad for her though because I only decided to go after she chose nursing school. I think we both thought the roles would be reversed right now. Who knew I had half a brain? I didn't!!:uhoh3:

Have fun studying for the lab exam. :trout:

I'm glad you know some of the ladies on the board already, but just wanted to say welcome and I too have been accepted!! I'll be attending nights though since I work through the day. :o

Congratulations to you on getting into the program and I look forward to working with all of you to get us ALL to our goal!!!! YAY!!!

Ok, that is such a cute image I have in my head of you and your son doing the happy dance...and you absolutely deserve to to it!!!

Also, didn't you say that she probably didn't study enough for that test? Not to mention the fact that this time around, the percentages to get in were VERY high!

Is she going to be able to take it again before the end of the year or did she already take it in this window? If I remember correctly, you both took it in August - the same day I did, right?

She WILL get in when it's right for her...she should really try to knock out some of the pre-req's in the meantime...makes a difference!!! But...it's impossible NOT to feel bad of course, but don't let that follow you into the program!!!

I agree with Colleen...you will be able to help her along the way this way! Just as a mom always does!!!
