i noticed the thread in the prenursing forum about class of '08 and i did post there but thought maybe i would start a thread specifically for '09 and see who is out there!! (plus it would suck when everyone graduated and left me alone in the post haha) i'm using the same format as that post because it was so good. post your info. here and introduce (or re-introduce) yourself!! it would be great to be able to support one another right to the end!!

what area of interest at this time: i am just really open to anything at this point .. so much to learn and i feel that this is just opening up to me and i will figure out where my interest lies.
biggest fear: not sure of that either. i am not sure if i will gag over anything or not. maybe my biggest fear would be looking stupid, but heaven knows i've done enough of that!
what you'd like us to know about you: i'm a mom of 4 (2 boys, 2 girls) and have worked (and still do) as a christian camp director for the past 5 years. i'm really enjoying university again. i graduated back in '85 with a b.ed. the next year i took a stats course and didn't go back until 2005 fall .. so on paper it took me 26 years to complete my pre-reqs haha .. in reality i (mostly) did them all since last fall!
my really neat thing this year is that my oldest daughter is going to be going to university at the same time as me but taking music! that is a very unique opportunity!!
i'm looking forward to talking with you all and helping to encourage you any way i can! :roll
Welcome...I'm going to be taking A & P 2 at your school. How was it and which teacher is great awful for this course...lol...would like a heads up!I have been accepted to Watts . Its great to meet other NS students near me.
Hi Cherish!! It's great to meet you. Congrats on being accepted at Watts!!! :balloons: I absolutely LOVED my A&P 2 instructor MUCH more than the A&P 1. She was awesome and made learning this stuff fun. I am trying to find her name in my old notes and stuff.... Here it is - her first name is Victoria.... I am crossing my fingers for you to get her and not one of the other ones. Anyway, you can PM me if you like and I'll give you more details.

Hey guys-
:welcome: to everyone who is just joining this thread.
I just finished my first year (last test this past Friday) and I'm enjoying telling everyone that I'm graduating in 2 years!! It sounds so much better than saying that I'm in a 3 year program.
I don't know how people who are on quarters or three term sessions last. I've been brain dead these past two weeks since I turned in my last big paper. That's made it hard to study for finals. :trout:
So what's everyone up to this summer? Are you taking summer classes? Or are you still in class like Kayel?
I'm working and thinking about a class. The thing is I tore my ACL and I'm trying to decide if I'll have the surgery to repair it. I'm not athletic at all (I was just going down some stairs when I injured myself), but think that it's something I need think about.

Heya! Oh no, I hope you are okay!! What happens if you don't have surgery? Will it heal on its own and how long will it take?Hey guys-:welcome: to everyone who is just joining this thread.

I just finished my three weeks of clinicals on Friday and am really happy to be through it. I had a great group, though! Next I have a killer course for 3 weeks and then I'm finally done until Fall! It's nice to see everyone in this thread and to have some new people!!! I am afraid I'm a little behind the times so hope to catch up in the next month. I applied for a couple of summer jobs but have yet to hear anything. Keep me in your prayers!! Thanks!

WHAT YOU'D LIKE US TO KNOW ABOUT YOU: My family had a dairy farm until recently...husband is still a dairy hooftrimmer (like the one on the tv show Dirty Jobs). I have 7 children ages 20-7, and obviously this nursing school stuff is a big leap from my recent past. Hi Lori,
Thanks for the encouragement. Reading posts like your makes it easier to look forward to school. I have heard some negative stuff about the instructors at my school, but they were supposed to have made some changes to the program and the instructors, so I have heard better things lately. I just can't wait until it begins. I think this waiting is much harder than having to wait for the letter!
Good luck with the rest of your nursing. How exciting to be entering the second half! The countdown really begins now, huh?!?
