Anti-vax nurses? Are you serious?

Nurses COVID

Published

We were discussing the Disneryland measles outbreak at work, and I was appalled to find some of my co-workers refuse to vaccinate their kids. They (grudgingly) receive the vaccines they need to remain employed, but doubt their safety/necessity for their kids.

I must say, I am absolutley stunned. How can one be a nurse and deny science?

As a nurse, you should darn well know what the scientific method entails and what phrases such as "evidence based" and "peer reviewed" mean.

I have to say, I have lost most of my respect for the nurses and mistrust their judgement; after all, if they deny science, on what premise are they basing their practices?

To be fair, she wasn't discounting lymph nodes and bone marrow, she stated that 80% of the immune system is in the gut, which is true, according to that article (actually, it said 70% but whatever).

I do know there is a LOT of emerging research that finds that children who were born via c-section have greater risk of all kinds of diseases (obesity, diabetes, eczema, asthma, various autoimmune diseases) because their gut is colonized by the prevailing flora within the operating room/hospital, rather than the mother's flora. Fascinating stuff.

Youch.

Okay, you guys convinced me that you're a little crazy. This isn't even me. Laughable indeed. So because you disagree and obviously have nothing better to do than criticize and spread social hate..(online bully), you resort to spreading lies.

And you all are nurses? Shame on you! What is nursing about? You have no clue, and I would not want people like you caring for anyone I know.

Have you actually taken A & P? If so, why are you discounting the lymph system and bone marrow with regard to being major players in the immune system?

Immune System: Diseases, Disorders & Function

Your comment above just provides ammo to those who question your actual knowledge and education.

It's like beating a dead horse. If you want to believe what you do go ahead. I see you have a hard time being proven wrong.

Exactly right.

I do hope "KSRN20" comes back and offers you an apology, Andi. Even though I don't agree with much of what you are saying, it was a completely low blow to accuse you of being someone else, and then make a lot of insults and accusations based on that incorrect assumption.

Is this sciencey enough for you? The immune system lies within the gut. NOT in the lymph nodes. Bone marrow? Really?

Allergy and the gastrointestinal system

This post right here makes it BLINDINGLY obvious you have no idea what and where your immune system is. Do you really not know how bone marrow is involved in immunity?

Thank you.

If you want to know more about the gut there is a healthy gut summit going on this week. It ends Monday. It's free with new speakers (M.D.'s, nutritionists, etc.) each day. There are some really amazing speakers. To sign up its just your first name and email to gain access. I've been trying to watch as many as I can. You can buy the presentations for $77 too if you want them all and want to watch them later. It's at The Healthy Gut Summit - February 9-16, 2015

BALONEY.

It is a FACT that the lymph system, the bone marrow, the thymus gland, the spleen, et al are instrumental in the immune system.

I could provide literally a million additional sources which explain the importance of these organs and systems to the immune system. But why? They are in every reputable A & P textbook, every scientific journal, etc. It's like being asked to provide multiple sources to back up the fact that teeth are instrumental in chewing food.

Klone, how can you make that statement in light of her quote?

Maybe she edited it, but she stated that the lymph system was not involved with immunity, merely that it "cleanses" the body. Now come on.

I am solidly pro-vaccination and believe that people who refuse to vaccinate their children are a danger to themselves and others. Having said that, I'm seeing some unbelievable rudeness on this thread on the part of some pro-vaccination posters. Apparently some people are not able to be eloquent and articulate in their thoughts and resort to sarcasm and jokes at the expense of anti-vaxxers. This is really shameful. What gives you the right to be rude to someone because they are wrong? The worst behavior I see is when two posters make jokes to each other about the anti-vaccine person as if they are not here. If you can't get your thoughts together without being rude, maybe you should leave it to some of the other participants who are posting facts and legitimate rebuttals. I'm really taken aback at the bad manners I'm seeing. It seems like some people wait for threads like these where they are on the side of the majority opinion so they can pile on.

I am snide. I am sarcastic. I tend to keep those traits to myself until someone decides I'm a communist idiot who is poisoning my kids.

Okay, you guys convinced me that you're a little crazy.

LOL, and there was a poster worrying about "pro-vaccine" posters being rude?

I don't get my news from natural news, nor do I go there for research. I'm not doing the research for you. I did my own. If you care to look objectively from all angles, I have posted links. This one......Vaccines ProCon.org. I have posted it several times. If any of you care to visit it, you might see research and data that supports both sides of the argument. There are footnotes throughout that you can click on to go and "see" the research. I have read cochrane studies on the issue. Scientific journal sites cost money in order to view some studies. If you care to enlighten yourself, you have to be willing to click on the links I provided. You all continue to bash and gloss over any data I provide. I'm done.

People survived for years before vaccines, and besides that, the diseases we vaccinate against were already in decline prior to them being given. You want the research...don't be lazy, it's out there....go find and read it.

At the turn of the 20th century, before routine vaccinations, people lived to be a/b 50 in the U.S.; vaccines contributed to an increase in life span. The WHO estimates that about 6 million lives are saved each year due to vaccinations.
