We were discussing the Disneryland measles outbreak at work, and I was appalled to find some of my co-workers refuse to vaccinate their kids. They (grudgingly) receive the vaccines they need to remain employed, but doubt their safety/necessity for their kids.
I must say, I am absolutley stunned. How can one be a nurse and deny science?
As a nurse, you should darn well know what the scientific method entails and what phrases such as "evidence based" and "peer reviewed" mean.
I have to say, I have lost most of my respect for the nurses and mistrust their judgement; after all, if they deny science, on what premise are they basing their practices?
This does not jibe with what most of us learned in school in basic A&P (which is that most of the cells that make up our immune system are located in our lymph nodes and bone marrow) and I am curious as to where this information comes from.
Is this sciencey enough for you? The immune system lies within the gut. NOT in the lymph nodes. Bone marrow? Really?
Go find the evidence. Read books. It's out there. Or you can just believe everything you hear or have learned in one class at one time.
But that's not how it works. You can't just make a statement and then when asked for evidence, say "Go look it up."
You do realize that I am essentially on YOUR "side" in this debate, right? (in a matter of speaking)
I am perfectly willing to learn and change my mind. But if someone states something that seems specious to most people, I would expect them to be able to back that with evidence (as you did with the immune system statement).

These studies refute your claim that most people die from chemotherapy:

Wait a minute.....she changed her username? You know this how? What was Andi's previous username?
If someone is using the app to check post history it will pull up any user name that is similar. So if a name is Bob it will also pull posts from Bobie Bob713 BobYoBob etc. this causes much confusion when people check post history on the app and sometimes on mobile.

Have you actually taken A & P? If so, why are you discounting the lymph system and bone marrow with regard to being major players in the immune system?

Your comment above just provides ammo to those who question your actual knowledge and education.

Because I know most nurses do not know about proper nutrition. Doctors aren't even taught it.
See... Science is always evolving. If this is still your thinking, you are behind the times and haven't read the latest data.
Chemo is probably one of the worst things you could put into someone. It damages the body and most people end up dying from the chemo itself and not the cancer.
I'm not really into arguing a point because I could care less. You all aren't about seeing the other side. You are about cut throat insults. I'm into peace, love, and all that quacky stuff.
