This is a welcome development for all filipino nurses. Let's just all be happy on this development and hoping that this announcement of the NCBN will put a stop on all previous speculations and demoralization. Congratulations to all the people responsible and made the effort to make Manila, Philippines as a new testing site for NCLEX. MABUHAY!:roll

NCSBN has selected Manila, the capital city of the Philippines, as a new site for the administration of the NCLEX® examinations.

And the interesting part is "At this time, no schedule of implementation has been set."

Its just a matter of time but only the representatives of NCSBN can dictate

the course of their decision.

I recall a time when it was announced sometime in 2004 or 2005 that they're eyeing Philippines to be a test site since and said that it will happen in 2007, but it didn't happen.

The lesson I learned: Unless there is finality and a definite date set officially, I wouldn't be too optimistic about it. Just like what Suzanne has mentioned, it might take years for it to actually happen.

Let us just wait and see. In the mean time, just study. The test site is not our concern, but the exam preparation.

 goodluck to all of you...

The Board does not dictate when the centers will open, they are under contract with Pearson-Vue to provide the services. And when there has been a posting that a foreign center is to open, it is months in advance before anything will be done and even a schedule can be set.

For those of you with ATTs that expire in the next few months, this center will not be available to you.

not very optimistic about it..... :uhoh3:

It's already approved and confirmed as evidenced by NCSBN's post on their website and Mr. Dante Ang's video interview immediately after the negotiation in Chicago as played already by the major Newscasts early yesterday evening.

Current consensus, is that an actual fully operational testing center will not be around until early 2008 or the most optimistic will be end of this year so all those who have pending appointments already or even those who already have their ATT but still haven't made appointments will still have to go through other testing sites unless of course they are willing to wait until a Pearsonvue testing center is fully operational in Manila.

And there is no mention of anything on the Pearson-Vue website as of yet.

Congratulations Philippines For Having Nclex Testing Center.

Mabuhay !!!

its in the NCSBN website already.....

anyway, if its really true, I am so happy for my fellow Filipino nurses here.. It will save alot of money ,around 500 US dollars I bet. Alot of filipino nurses who can't afford to travel will finally get the chance to take the exam, I am so excited for everyone.
