I wanted to start a thread for all of the people who are waiting for the November ANC selection board, specifically if you have/waiting on the M5 identifier for Emergency Nursing. I thought we could suffer together and update each other while we wait. You are welcome to post if you have another specialty or none at all.
My status:
I have submitted all documents, and waiting on M5 identifier approval, physical approval and for the packet to make it past QA.
OMG, just another week until the board meets!!! *spazzing out* Good thing I have my EMS symposium to keep me occupied this week, followed by extra shifts and stuff this month ... *more spazzing* I'm just excited. For all of us!! It's been a long haul and it'll be good to get to some kind of resolution, whatever it might be.
Have any of your recruiters given you an estimated number of applicants that are in your area? Would anyone know the amount of slots that are going to be filled? I have tried to do some research on my own, to get some kind of reassurance, but I keep running into a dead end. I suppose there really is no definite answer, and all that we can do is hurry up and wait.

I don't know about this year, but as far as last year, I think Army filled 200 applicants..He told me, but I forgot:D

I am re-assuring myself too, but all I can do is having a plan B just in case I don't get selected..I realize I don't have to beat myself up about this waiting because it just makes the days go slow..enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday:)
I supposed that I too need to stop worrying and take one day at a time. If I don't get selected, then there was probably a reason, and my life is supposed to go in a different direction than what I had planned. Happy Thanksgiving to you also, and thank you for your reply.Daisy:nurse:
Your welcome!:)...Just think positive! You have high chance to get selected because of your area and year of experience!!..Be cool:smokin:

Had to re-sign/send my 1205 (the form about the bonuses and course guarantees) because we had incorrectly marked one thing as "declined" instead of "ineligible." Oops! :) Luckily my recruiter called me about 30 minutes before I was heading out of town for the week to my EMS symposium, so no biggie -- fixed it and sent it back. My packet is now all 100% through QA and ready for the board next week! Woo hoo!

Have fun at the symposium hope it relieves some of the stress of waiting.

It will be great if we all get selected, but what I heard from my recruiter, it is very competitive to get in..Also, every year, they always meet their quota for nurses...If Army is really in need for nurses, it will not be very competive..My recruiter also advice me when I first started my paper works, if I didn't get selected to this coming board for 66H, I have to starts working in the ICU, ER, or OR so that I have high chance to get selected for next year..So that is why I transferred to CVICU last month just in case I didn't get in for this coming board..I will try again next year as soon I met my required hours to enter as critical care nurse in the Army..Good luck for all of us!!
