I wanted to start a thread for all of the people who are waiting for the November ANC selection board, specifically if you have/waiting on the M5 identifier for Emergency Nursing. I thought we could suffer together and update each other while we wait. You are welcome to post if you have another specialty or none at all.
My status:
I have submitted all documents, and waiting on M5 identifier approval, physical approval and for the packet to make it past QA.
Burnout thanks for sharing!I am so over the drama that is associated with the Recruiters telling/not telling you stuff up front. It pains me that you have to give so much control over your progress to applying to someone else. Suppose they happen to be a lazy bum? You could be doing everything right, but if they do not submit stuff like they are supposed to, you will still wind up left behind. I am glad you mentioned the signing issue to yours so you can hopefully avoid any set backs. At this point I am just praying for everyone posting that their packets are made ready by the 2nd, and then I will start praying for selection. One thing at a time :)
I'm over the drama too. This is our lives in their hands and it sounds like some of the recruiters have an "oh well" attitude. Mine has been awesome and has bent over backwards for me not only last year for my commissioning selection in the Reserves, but this year as well for the AA selection. It's my Commander I'm worried about. He STILL hasn't filled out my Conditional Release. He told me 2 wks ago that he was TDY and would call me last week when he returned to counsel me and then he would sign. Last week...NOTHING! I left a voice mail and sent an email to his secretary. My recruiter as contacted someone in my unit that use to be part of USAREC that has been helping and attempting to assist with coaxing my CDR into signing. We're all still trying to figure out why this is turning out to be such a big deal. My recruiter sent me the correspondence between the USAREC and my unit and he told them that this is the only board for this year. For our recruiting command they've been asked to have all our packets in by 10/29 so that they can be reviewed for accuracy. So like you guys have said in past posts....WHO REALLY KNOWS!!! All I know is I only have 10 days to get this squared away before I leave for OBLC. The last thing I need is for something to come up while I'm gone and then I can't do anything about it. So, like all of you, I'm just anxiously awaiting with as positive of an attitude as possible!!! I've been focusing on getting ready for OBLC, which has been stressful enough. Last time I went to basic all I had to do was pack some clothes that ended up getting taken away anyway!!! Then they gave me the rest of the stuff that I needed!!! SOOOOOO much easier!! LOL!! Uniforms, tabs, patches, some TA-50 gear, rucks, duffel bags, head gear, boots, cold weather gear because the nights are getting cold, and the list goes on and on... But even though it's wigging me out, I'm wicked excited and can't wait!!!!
I just got an email from my recruiter stating that my application packet was all in order and ready for board. However, he also said that they just had their meeting with the program directors and that there will only be 10 slots nation wide for Army Nurse Candidate Program. I will cross my fingers because I am scared to hold my breath :uhoh21:

what???10 slots nationwide? is that all for special identifiers and 66H?
No, the Army Nurse Candidate Program is for those who are still pursuing their BSNs -- http://www.goarmy.com/amedd/education/undergraduate-health-care-education.html

OMG, my M5 has been approved.
M5! M5! FINALLY!!!
LOL. Sorry, felt like shouting a little.
My recruiter rocks ... she got married Saturday and is on her way to an island for a honeymoon, and she still took the time out of all that to email me about my M5. I adore her!! Also, she said that none of the 8A or M5 packets for applicants were considered with this month's board, but will be with the next one on November 16th.
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to go spaz out with happiness over here, don't mind me. :)

AWESOME!!!!! CONGRATS!!!!
I'm soooooo excited for you!!! You've crossed the last hurdle!! I too got some good news today. My Commander finally called me today for my counseling session and said that he is going to endorse my Conditional Release. Now all I have to do is get a copy of it to get in my packet!! Talk about getting in on the cusp!!! At least he did it, and not too happily I don't think!! I'm so grateful and thankful though!!
Again, Lunah.... CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Hopefully, I'll see you on the flip!!
