Has anyone ever taken the A&P classes online? How did you do? What did you like or dislike? I work full time and have no nighttime daycare, so this is pretty much the only option I have. I want to get the last 3 pre reqs out of the way, so I can put myself on the long 'ole waiting list. I have A&P I and II and Micro-biology left before I can apply. Then I get to sit on the waiting list until I get called since all of my general ed and the like are done. How fun! Thanks for your responses.
Thanks!

I took both A & P classes and micro online and loved it. You are more or less teaching it to yourself by reading the book. But I still had to show up in person for lab.

I'm currently taking A&P1 online. It was tough at first but I think I've gotten used to it and have learned my own learning style. That's the key to online learning, IMO. You have to know how you learn. I thought I was visual but kinetic also plays a part for me. I have to write it out so making notecards has REALLY helped me.
I do my labs online as well, we have lab tests and quizzes...as well as assignments that we have to submit. Everything is done online.
Good luck, oh yeah, I would take them one at a time. I'm taking Statistics online as well and 2 intense, time consuming classes aren't fun. You are juggling them, one test to the next.
My class is actually a hybrid class. I am just scared since I work full time and have no day care at night. I did a psychology class last semester and got an A. I really enjoyed the study materials they had in addition to the lectures. Thanks for your input. I will have actual labs so that will be good.

I took both A&P I and II online. I got A's in both classes. I love online classes. I learn better by teaching myself. I have a hard time sitting in class and concentrating. For you to be successful you really need to know how you learn best. If you learn best by lectures, you may have problems in an online course. If this is the case, hopefully your instructor will post pod casts from his/her on campus lectures. My instructor did so it made the class easier for everyone.
But even if this isn't the best way for you to learn, you can still do it. Just be prepared to read a lot.
And just so you know, online classes are more ideal for my learning but I took Biology and Microbiology at on-campus classes and I got A's in both. So just because one still of learning may not be "good" for you, that doesn't mean you still won't be able to do well.
About how much studying did you do with this class? I work full time, and will be studying after 9:00 p and on weekends and during my lunch. What do you think are the most crucial or hardest topics in this class?

I took bio online and loved it! It was hard at first...like Jetta DP said...you have to know your learning style. Once I got that down I was ready to go. Ended up with a A in the class. I will say though....the teacher was a little harder then most because it was online. She demanded that you turn in all your papers on time... no excuses...and she timed the test so that no one could cheat (one minute per question). If you went over she took off points. But overall it was great.
Sorry if I mispelled anyting...I'm coming down from a coffee binge.

I took this class online and it is hard either way. I did like being able to take the course online. The only thing I did not like about taking the course online is the way the course was set up online by whoever designed it. We were having to take two to three tests in a seven day period. If the tests would have been spaced out a little better it would have been easier. The course I took was not set up with the mindset that people who were taking the course most likely worked full time. NOT every student who was taking the course was just out of high school. As a matter of fact most of us who took the course online were mostly a little older and had full time jobs. It takes good organizational skills to be able to take this course online. I am taking A and P 2 in the spring semester 2009.

I'm taking A&P I online right now, will be taking A&P II online next semester. I love it. The instructor puts aduio files of his lectures online, provides practice quizzes that can be done over and over and aren't for a grade, so we can test our knowledge and figure out what we need to study, has powerpoints, "office hours" can be in person or online via an instant messaging program.
I am going to end up with a B in the class because I didn't make the time to do all my homework. (I work a full time job, a part time job, and took a full time course load!)
Good luck to you! You can do it, just make sure to keep up with it week to week and don't get behind. I spent about 8 hours /week on this class.

I took A&P I with the University of Phoenix on-line. I got an A, but it wasn't an easy A. I barely made it.
Good luck.

I wasn't doing as good as I would have liked when I took it on-line. I decided to withdraw and take it next semester. I didn't get really good notes from the teacher though or audio lectures.
