Has anyone ever taken the A&P classes online? How did you do? What did you like or dislike? I work full time and have no nighttime daycare, so this is pretty much the only option I have. I want to get the last 3 pre reqs out of the way, so I can put myself on the long 'ole waiting list. I have A&P I and II and Micro-biology left before I can apply. Then I get to sit on the waiting list until I get called since all of my general ed and the like are done. How fun! Thanks for your responses.
Thanks!

My online school (ccconline.org) has classes starting next Monday, but also a shorter semester that begins Oct 5. The transcripts comes form the parent community college and don't even show as online.
As for CLEPing out of a class, I think its up to the school and the prof. I know at the U I am applying at, they won't accept CLEPs at all.
The nursing program at University of Colorado Denver accepts online classes through colorado community colleges online (ccconline). I can't say for certain about other online classes but they are very online class friendly and they have a list of accepted programs on their site. They even offer some of their own NS classes online so the nursing students can have flexible schedules because of clinicals.
Just tried to find an online General Biology course with lab. They exist, but they are all full already. Anyone know of a course that is open and available?
also occweb.sunyocc.edu
As a comment to the existing thread-discussion:Would a professor in Organic Chemistry deny a student from taking that course, if they had taken and CLEPed out of a course in Chemistry 1&2 online? What about Microbiology if having taken online course and CLEPed out of Biology 1&2?
This would have to be discussed with the individual instructor. I doubt that any of them would mind. They would be more concerned with your actual readiness to take their course. It would probably be up to the school whether or not you would be allowed to continue and any of their decisions can be addressed with a request for exception to policy.
Well, I've never taken API,II,micro online..... but I wouldn't recommend it. AP is a hard subject to comprehend and having a teacher would really benefit you in case you had questions, ect. I also don't think online AP is good because you probably can use your textbook for quizzes and tests online, right? So in a year from now you won't remember any of the information and you will have trouble grasping the concepts. AP is crucial to success in the nursing program and I would recommend you take it in a class setting. But, then again it's up to you.
I seen that University of Phoenix offers individual courses, and they do have Microbiology and A&P but i don't know if it is A&P1 A&P2 or both that they offer?
I also don't know if you can take these courses individually as they are associated with the Bachelors degree in Nursing program (which you have to be an RN just to get accepted to) so I'm going to call tomorrow to see if it IS an option to take those alone...
I already have an associates in Psych from Univ. of Phoenix so maybe i have an advantage to that...but still has anyone taken THOSE courses individually through Univ. of Phoenix online?

the problem is that it is already too late to get into these courses for the fall. Classes start next week, and are already full across my state, and the nation most likely.
Any online equivalent WILL NOT be accepted towards a nursing degree by any local instate institution. They will not be accepted because the state board regulators will not accept the credits either.
I am looking at an online A&P course, as I have had one years ago. But there was no lab with that one years ago; so I am concerned that will effect prerequisites for A&P 2 later on, with lab.
