You are not too old! In fact you will likely have a different outlook and maturity that many who went to school ages 18-22 didn't have. I work with someone who didn't go to RN school until she was in her late 50s and she is an amazing nurse. A woman in my NP class is in her 60s. It's never too late to make a decision that will make you happy. If you don't go back to school you may look back on that decision with regret!
Forget it, you're too old. You're stuck with what you're doing now for the rest of your life so put your head back into that number crunching because that's all you'll ever know and live.
HaHaHaHa...too old!! Get outta here!! I graduated from nursing school at the tender, innocent, age of 42; from an industrial construction background...pipefitting.
Do you happen to have any tips or pointers? I am literally starting from scratch. I am nervous about the change, but feel it will be a good one for me. I do have one thing to ask. Was there anything when you started that your stomach could NOT handle and did it change?
No things my stomach couldn't handle. I do have a yuck factor with bloody teeth being loose. But you don't see much of that in nursing.
Most normal human beings don't like to see or hear someone throwing up. Like maybe the first 10 seconds of dealing with it you think...blech!....but then your mind goes into the "fix it" mode, get an emesis basin, get some antiemetics, assist the patient however you can, you just deal with it.
Do you have kids, pets, family members? You will have had to deal with some "yucky" stuff if you do.
There are many posts on Allnurses about nurses almost or actually fainting, including me. Put fainting into the Allnurses search.

Hello, I am 29 years old. I have been working in the medical finance world since I can remember. However, I am looking at taking the leap into rn. I am wondering if I am too old to embark on this journey. Any guidance would be much appreciated. Thank you
