Is anyone applying to ACC ADN program for Fall 2017?

I've made a Facebook page for us. It's called San Jac Fall 2017 ADN if y'all would like to "like" it. May be easier to communicate that way! It's BRAND NEW so I haven't filled out any other info yet but will get to it shortly. I'll make it private so we can post personal info on there for those who would like to exchange info! I'll also post helpful links and any updated information about the program I get and it would be a good way to ask and answer questions. Occasional funny pictures also...

The end of next week? As in June 2nd? This is crazy. I agree though, I would not gamble with it. I hear San Jac has an AMAZING program!! I didn't apply there for this fall but I am happy for everyone who got accepted.. that really stinks though that you have to either accept or have the chance of being declined. They only take 30-40 people per semester at Alvin

You can (and should) always accept San Jac's offer and then at a later date (even the week before), decline. This way your spot is guaranteed, but if another, more preferred school accepts you, you are able to take that one and then open your San Jac spot to someone else! :)

Has anyone gotten any updates?

Did you get the email from Karen by any chance? She said that acceptance letters will go out either next week or the following week. I know, so long :( But no, besides that, I haven't heard anything. Stressful.

Hey, thanks.

The email app is messed up on my phone apparently because I'm only seeing certain emails if I log onto my computer. I would have never seen this email if y'all didn't bring it up!!

I thought I was missing something lol

Thanks, guys

This is stressful waiting and waiting...

Wonder whats making them take so much longer than they expected

I know. I went to a nursing orientation (San Jac) yesterday where we had to buy uniforms and supplies. We have 10 business days to cancel...so I'm hoping I hear good news from Alvin and UT soon. If not, I have HCC and San Jac to fall back on...thank goodness. I've been applying to schools for a while now.

How do you feel about HCC since they recently got back their full accreditation? I'm asking because I'm considering applying.

You mean 10 days to cancel and return everything ? Do you get penalized for turning n

down San Jac at this point ?

The wait is seriously crazy. College of the Mainland's deadline was may 15 and they sent out acceptances yesterday ! I was accepted by the way and I am also waiting for Alvin and UT.

@gluz1217

Everyone at the hospital I work at in the med center has made a lot of statements about it, not in a positive light though. I remember a year ago when it happened, the instructor doing orientation for all the new hires joked about not hiring nurses if you're from HCC. :wideyed: This is only what we heard. I do not know how they are now.
