I was not missing anything per se, but had not yet taken Lifespan or Humanities. I took both of those over the summer so that completed things for me in terms of what they ideally look for.

Hi, Ogo34! My Hesi score overall was a 92, GPA is 4.0 and I have Lifespan and Humanities completed in addition to the prerequisites. I have not taken any classes at ACC and do not live in Alvin so I guess my GPA and Hesi scores were enough. best of luck to you on your next attempt- this was my second time applying as well!

I just received my acceptance email as well. Last name starts with ‘B' and letters do go out in batches so don't fret if yours hasn't arrived in your inbox just yet!

It sure will! And be prepared for the mandatory orientation meeting to occur very shortly after you receive your acceptance (they gave me about 4 days notice). Last semester we were there for over 10 hours and were told we HAD to purchase uniforms and kits that day for $450-$500 or we wouldn't be prepared for the first day. -Things I wish I had known ahead of time but that they won't tell you!

Hi all! This is my second time applying to ACC's program. I was rejected last semester due to being a couple of credits behind compared to other applicants. My stats are: HESI: 92 overall (98 A&P) GPA: 4.0 CREDITS: 24 of the possible 24 that they prefer I was accepted into San Jac last semester but declined after their orientation was 11 disorganized hours long and they forced us to purchase $450 of scrubs and nursing kit at the orientation without any prior warning. Alvin is clearly more organized and trustworthy! Good luck to everyone!

Hi all! I applied to San Jac for Fall 2017 and was accepted, but I declined for several reasons (one being that I'd prefer Alvin's program and am hopeful I will get in this time around!). I reapplied to San Jac for Spring 2018 as backup should I not get in to Alvin. My stats are as follows: HESI: 92 overall GPA: 4.0 (26 credits total) RUBRIC: 25 Good luck eveyone!

Micle: I'm honestly not sure. I have not received anything since being fingerprinted and what to expect/do has been made pretty unclear in my opinion. My understanding is that the blue card would be mailed to us. I have actually rescinded my acceptance into the program in part because of how unorganized and dishonest the orientation was (Surprise! You have to spend $450 today!) as well as all following requirements. If I receive anything in the mail, I will update here and let you know! Best of luck!

Giners80: You have 10 business days to cancel that insanely expensive and mandatory uniform and stethoscope/lab kit order with Career Uniforms! You'll get a full refund other than the cost of those $10 IDs. If I was in your shoes, I'd gladly return that stuff and jump on board with Alvin! Congratulations! :)

ACCEPTANCE EMAILS ARE OUT! So bummed to say I didn't get in. While my Hesi scores and GPA are higher than both accepted and wait listed applicants, I have less competed credit hours than those accepted and therefore didn't make the cut. Particularly disappointed because after attending San Jac's orientation, I have little faith in the organization and approaches to their program. Congrats to all who make it into Alvin!

I was able to register for fingerprinting this morning. Until then, I was receiving the same message. At orientation it sounded like they were still entering names into that system and she said to continue trying through the end of the week. Don't stress yourself out too badly- if you still get the error message on Friday, try calling your secretary to inform her. Hope this helps! :)

Shelbirene13: I felt the exact same way! Today I called the nursing dept and spoke with Ira who informed me that the Fast Pass website is "overwhelmed" and therefor, no one can complete the fingerprinting process until after the orientation. I asked her to confirm that having this completed by Monday was then, not a requirement and wouldn't have us pushed out of the program or anything and she said, "No-you're in now! Just bring your ID, social security card and health insurance." I also asked about the email from BON that many of us are wondering about and she said that does not come until we've been cleared through the fingerprinting process, so don't expect that yet or worry about it. I hope this helps and saves a couple of you a trip to campus tomorrow! :)

You can (and should) always accept San Jac's offer and then at a later date (even the week before), decline. This way your spot is guaranteed, but if another, more preferred school accepts you, you are able to take that one and then open your San Jac spot to someone else! :)
