Congratulations Damianus ! I'm on the waitlist for Summer 2021. If Summer doesn't work, I'll start this Fall.

Damiaus, I understand your point though. I know perfectly what you're talking abt. However, I agreed with both of you. To me you are both correct but, you just have different approaches.  Based on the previous comments, I can see that one of you takes the pathogenicity approach of an organim and the other approach goes mostly toward virulence. In a scientific point of you, you're right Damianus. She/he's also right too since I work in a nursing facility.

Glad to hear you’re in. It’s an incredibly supportive vibe so far. I’m pretty hopeful. Alverno seems to develop very good instructors. They all appear to be Alverno grads or long term faculty.

Is everyone moving to Wisconsin or are y’all current residents? I’m making the move a little closer to the fall and if anyone has any advice for areas to steer clear of I’d greatly appreciate it! I’ll be moving with my family so a good school district is really important to me, and I’d like to stay within 30mins to the school since I don’t have a lot of experience driving in the snow.

Thanks for any advice, or a point in the right direction.

I'm an Illinois resident. I'll be moving to a city closer to the Wisconsin border. From my own research, the closest cities I saw are like 45-53mns driving to Milwaukee. None of them are 30mins driving. Unless if you want to move to Wisconsin. That's my 2nd option.

We were already in WI. Oconomowoc school district is excellent if you don’t mind the 40-60 minute drive depending on weather. Waukesha/Brookfield is your next best bet. Much cheaper too. The closer to the lakes region the better for families.

Thanks! I was looking at the shorewood area originally, but the prices are high. I’ll keep looking searching.

There are many many things out there that are worse than covid and carry much higher death rates. Ever heard of prions? Look into some of the fungal and bacterial species that we have no drugs for. Ebola even has a higher death rate.

And you are going to be exposed to these when and where as an RN working in Milwaukee?

shorewood area

Shorewood has many apartments on Oakland Ave.

I have also been conditionally accepted, pending my abnormal psych. I'm on the waitlist for Summer 2021 with a secured spot for fall. Hope to meet some future classmates on here😊.

Congrats Darling2013!

Hey Damianus,

I bought the eBook for the Ab.Psych class but, it didn't come with the access code. I went on Cengage Learning but, it wasn't helpful. I remember you mentioned you watched the videos for the course. Were you talking abt the video left by the professor from Coopersmith? Or, you got the access code? I've been trying to buy the access code for the course but, I still can't find it. Amazon doesn't have it. If you bought one , would you mind telling me where I can buy it too please?

Thanks

Speed read the book, then watch the video left by the Coopersmith instructor at least 2X. If you handle it, set the playback speed to 2.0. Being forced to follow at a higher rate of speed will cause you to remember more.

Hey everyone,

How are you paying for school if you don't mind me asking🤔 Im counting on financial aid but not sure if we'll be receiving enough to cover living expenses as well.

GI Bill.

otherwise it would be graduate plus loans and private loans. It’s doable. The faster you get to work the faster you make $$.

Hi everyone,

Yes @damianus, I read the book and answered some of the questions at the end of each chapter. The book has so much details and stories while his video just brushes a little bit in each chapter. At one point I don't know if his video will be useful or not. Did he ask questions from the things he mentioned in his video though ?  How many questions was on that exam for all these information I'm reading in this book ? 🙆‍♀️ The only thing I know for sure is I like his voice, I fell alseep twice while listening to the video. 😂

For your question @Darling2013, I'll take grad loans.  I'm starting this Summer. If any of you is starting in May, let me know.

I can't stress this enough. Watch that video 2x before taking your test. Watch it at double speed if you can handle it to make it take less time. That's what I did, and I did very well on the test. I don't remember how many questions it was, but he hits the highlights you need to pass in that video.

@KatooI'm still on the waitlist for the Summer cohort, will update you if I get in.

OK to both you.

Alright, I have been accepted to both Marquette and Alverno DEMSN. Alverno awards you with both a BSN and an MSN, while you get a RN licensure from Marquette and a MSN.

Does anyone know if when applying for beside RN jobs, preferably at hospitals, if having the edu from Marquette vs. Alverno are equally competitive? I like Marquette slightly better but I also need to be sure that I will be able to find a bedside nursing job fairly soon after graduate to get experience before practicing as an NP.

If anyone has some insight it is greatly appreciated!
