I've recently been conditionally admitted to Alverno's demsn program, slated for Summer unless a spot opens up in Spring. The conditional being that I finish the labs for the prerequisites and two psychology courses as I've only finished the didactic portions in a marathon 9 week section.
Does anyone have any experience with this program, or Alverno in general? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Passed NCLEX, first try, and became licensed November ‘22.
Alverno, for all it’s logistical faults, gave me a solid and challenging education.
I saw you changed your name....please do not leave us. I enjoyed hearing about your Alverno times and am looking to hear more about your future!

Hi there!
Can you please prove more insight? Just want to get all the info I possibly can. Seeing ad this is my only choice left at this point I hope I'm not going to be set up to kill someone. I mean if I really apply myself, only focus on the program and courses, and look for additional and supplemental resources will I still fail? I'm single and have no kids and nothing necessarily holding me anywhere. Also what campus are you on?

Everyone I started with who was granted permission to test would have tested this year. They are currently using the ATI green light as the gate keeper to keep people from testing. I retake my predictor Monday. I look forward to knocking out NCLEX and moving forward. They won't grant permission to test without it and you end up waiting until you finish the entire program otherwise.
I have no doubt your MSN program was fruitful, but my goodness that sounds unpleasant.
I had encouraged my niece to attend Alverno given their reputation (at least in the past) and she completed the DEMSN program in Dec 2021 after a rough final semester in the advanced pharm class. She feels lucky to have passed the class given that she and most of the cohort were failing the class. As an outsider looking in and from what she was telling me it appeared to be a pretty toxic and botched up situation. I saw that prof Bruce is now with MSOE. Was she let go from Alverno?

1) 18 months is grueling. I do not personally support the direct entry MSN model as being good for A) mental health B) safely teaching nursing.
2) The professors were by and far excellent.
3) Milwaukee
4) They have integrated ATI and it is sufficient preparation. I did utilize Mark Klimek lectures and strongly recommend them as an adjunct to ATI.
5) First semester was during COVID so there's no comparing really. The program has improved markedly.
6) I would not say the course load is manageable; caveat, unless you're young and childless with no social life. You will have to choose (2) from the following (3): good grades, good health, social commitments. You cannot maintain all three in a DEMSN program.
