I go to school out in las Vegas & I was told by one of our "high ups" that if we wanna get the B average rule changed we needed to get all the schools together to rally against it. We need to get all the students to sign a petition saying we are against this & so is our nursing boards. Please reply back with emails and i can email someone from each school this petition and they can get their students to sign against it. We are paying for this $50,000 so for them to deny us because of a C when that's considered a passing grade is WRONG! please get back to me so we can change this!!!

What are you considering to be a "C". It is common for nursing schools to consider anything below 80 to be failing.
Like what schools??? Cause none that i have contacted they all consider 70% passing
Well every school I have ever heard of.
I challenge you to find another school that will accept a 70 as passing. I think I have heard of some letting 75 slide by.....
I'm not sure where you live but here in Nevada & California they are ALL C. So thank you for your comments but if you not from this school & interested in helping then your comments are not needed. Thanks
I am trying to orient you to reality.
You are wasting your time.
My girlfriend goes to ITT/Breck here in Tampa and we have been down this road.
The grading scale is not going to change...

They can make there own grading scale. Im assuming if you got a grade for nclex if would have to be a "b" or higher

I am a student at Itt/Breck in Tallahassee and I have NO desire to change the grading scale. It is what it is and I am going to try my hardest to keep 90's. I personally do not want to be a patient and have a nurse that was happy with just making C's. I want a nurse who knows his/her stuff!
I will NOT be one to help or join a petition of this sort. I will also agree with the previous posters, almost everywhere I have heard in Florida requires at least an 80 to pass.

All the Nursing Schools in my area anything less than a 76% is failing. So good luck with that.

Amen! I push myself hard to learn the material because when this is all said and done, peoples' health and well-being is going to be at the mercy of my knowledge and abilities. This is serious business and if anything, I would push to set the bar higher, not lower.
(75%+ to pass in my program, for what it's worth)

80% is passing in my program along with most of the many nursing schools around me. I know theirs because of family or friends that went there. 79.5% =failing
I must say when I posted this when they first made the change and I was extremely upset by it even thought my grades had never fallen below a 85% however I know must say after a while I must agree with you all that I think setting the bar higher wAs better because it got the people out who didn't necessarily belong or put the time and effort into their studying.
