All the hatered has made me want it even more!!!!

Published

Since joining this message board I have seen ALOT of negitive feedbacks on LPN/LVN's and it at first made me mad and also very sad that fellow :nurse:'s would be so hurtful and mean sometimes. BUT with that said it also had made me even more excited about going into the LPN program:redpinkhe I am still planning at evenutally bridging over to a RN program. I know that I am looking forward to working in LTC or/& nursing homes I think that the people in these need great care and I think I will be able to provide it for them with a caring hand and a smiling face!

I think that is it very sad that some people feel the need to "fight" back and forth:smiley_ab

My mother(NP) & my aunt(CRNA) dont sit around and talk about how LPN/LVN, ADN, BSN are "below" them! They see ALL of us as a important part of the nursing system all doing IMPORTANT things to hold it together and make it better.

I think its time for all of us to stop...... :deadhorse

I don't even pay it any mind. I'll write my opinion here sometimes to defend why I decided to do my LPN first so that other aspiring LPNs aren't discouraged but other than that it doesn't affect me one bit. In the hospitals I've been treated really nice by RNs and shabby by a couple of LPNs so I don't think it has as much to do with our titles as it does with people's personalities and insecurities. We've all met highly skilled LPNs and CNAs and I'm sure we've all met less than stellar RNs so I prefer to judge people based on their ability to do a competent job rather than who went to school the longest. I am proud of my abilities and very proud of my LPN license.

Many posters here use All Nurses to vent. It may be just a release of steam. Sometimes you have to consider the source. Good luck in school.

I have been wanting to post this same thing for a long time. But sometimes my mouth over rides my ..you know what!!! So I have refrained. There are a couple of LVN hating posters on this board and they are not afraid to get into a LVN discussion and let their feelings be known. I am a LVN and worked hard to get here and am Proud of it. You dont listen to the negativilty here , do what you got to do and get through school. Good luck to you....

Yes, good luck to you.

Please don't judge the message board and RNs by what you read hear.

Look at the big picture, out of thousands of posts on this forum, I'd say the LPN haters are relatively few in comparison to the rest of us. I know it stings when they post, but keep it in perspective. Like txspadequeen states, there are a couple on this forum, and some you'll meet in real life, and as she says, don't let them bother you in the least.

Good luck to you!!

Coloradogrl... did you say hater-aid?? Is this what you are saying in the title of your post. LOL Yes, use it to make good, sweet nurse-aid.

Only those nurses with low self-esteem usually feel the need to insult another person's educational attainment or career pathway. Don't allow these nurses with low self-esteem to rent too much space inside your head because they're not worth your precious time. I fully respect the education and training received by both RNs and LPNs.

They fear the competition. They know that there is very little that they can do that we as LPN's can't do. In the current climate of managed care and cost cutting they fear for thier jobs. But by the same token, there are LPN's (ok, and RN's) that make other LPN's look bad by giving sloppy care, showing lack of attention to important details.
