Hmnnnnnnn..that sounds fishy...As far as I know when you get hired by a hospital all your orientation is paid for including computer training because that is something you need to know to be effective at work. You may want to double check that with them. Maybe call your human resources.

Good luck!

The agencies I have worked with pay varied between 10-20 an hour for orientation.

You should be paid for the orientation, at least $10 per hour when you have to go for that type of training. I suggest that you look for another agency.

My last agency paid all orientation at half time our regular rate, payable after we have worked our first shift at the facility. This was routine in my area. Perhaps things are done differently in other places?? Ask around your area. I wouldn't want to waste my time either.

I just arrived home from signing up with a new temp agency, and all their documentation states they do not pay for any orientation until we have worked at least 40 hours.

Any place that I have worked for an agency other than my own, got paid at least $10/hr for the orientation and did not have to wait until I worked there 40 hours.
