Well the paperwork and interview are finished and I'm just waiting to see if I get in. Just wanted to start this thread for others in the Nov 2011 boards and see who the competition is. Good luck to everyone.
Oh, a quick rundown on me. I'm 33 with 2 years ICU, ER, and Supervisor experience graduating with my BSN in May 2012. I'm seeking anykind of commissioning but hopefully a flight or ICU position. I'm an active individual so not really worried about the PT, just ready to get going serving my country.

I also submitted my packet for Nov. 2011 board. I have my interview tomorrow so i'm getting a little nervous. I'm 27 years old and I have 6 years of experience. I'm applying for a fully qualified NICU position. I've been working on my running, push-ups and sit-ups. I'm glad all the paperwork is done but now here comes the hardest part...... WAITING!!!! By the way how was your interview? What kind of questions did u get and where did you do it?
I did my interview at Scott AFB in Illinois. It was very informative and I really enjoyed speaking with the Colonel. Questions just pertained to AF mission, core values, past experiences, and perception of AF life and requirements. I hope we all get in.

yay! i have been looking for this thread! we sure got started late, but i have been so busy i just keep looking for info to help with my package. this is so exciting! it is awesome to be writing about this instead of just reading because i had to wait so long before i could apply.
ok, i too am in the november board. i am prior service. i graduate this december and will have one year experience around then too. i am applying for med/surge, which is my experience. and i said i can leave in january, but i kind of hope and figure that i would not leave that soon. but i would rather leave then, than not at all. i was hoping for andrews until the chief nurse told me that i would be a telephone nurse and that i really don’t have the experience for that. i agree, even though i really want to go the dc. and am hoping i could work at the tri-service navy hospital i have been reading about. my other top choice was england. the chief nurse basically said i only put down 3 hospitals. but, the af will do what they want. and i have had wonderful experiences with every base i was stationed at as an enlisted member. it really is what you make of it. i am not as confident in my pt as ucurnanthony, but i am working on it like nautticca. i can’t imagine getting accepted and failing due to a pt test. plus, we will be officers and should set an example (something i did not feel as an enlisted until i started getting some rank and responsibility), so i am aiming for excellent.
i am curious, has anyone got any good info from their recruiters. i am (unsurprisingly) disappointed with mine. my recruiter didn’t even have an updated list of bases, hardly got back to me, and i got so much contradicting information. coming from a recruiter was not unexpected, but still disappointing.
has anybody heard how many nurses they are looking for? or how the process works? i get the impression that this board, and the last one, are different since nurses are no longer in demand in the af. when we will find out? i am thinking around december, based on reading other threads.
it does feel good to have everything done and off. now i can just focus on work and school (something i hope to never to full time together again!)
Hi Worldatlas, I agree this is very exciting!!! I officially started this process in June and I'm sure I don't have to tell you how happy i am to finally have my packet submitted. Many people don't make it this far, so I'm grateful. I've started working on my run:uhoh3: did not do so great... But it will get better:) my three base choices were Lackland(BAMC), Kessler, Langley. Speaking of recruiters, mine my AMAZING. She kept me informed via e-mail, phone and text messages. I'm not sure about the total number of nurses they're selecting, but I do know there are only 10 NICU slots available:eek: with so few positions I'm a little nervous about making the cut but I'm trying to remain positive. I also said I can leave in January, but I'm hoping for May ( due to the kid's school schedules). I think you're right about the release of the results (late Nov. Or early Dec.). We have a long wait ahead of us.... I'm trying to stay busy and hopefully the time will fly by:yawn:

Hi All!
I was told we should hear back November 18th or before. I applied to the NTP boards this year and was not accepted as only about 25 were. I started the process in June 2010 so it has been an arduous journey! Has anyone heard anything else? I have no idea how many they are accepting, I was told 80 a long time ago yet I think that has changed!
I was told that the number to be selected wouldn't be known until November when they also decide who gets selected. From what I understand, the July boards were rough and many did not get selected. They are really looking for experience.

Hi! I think I am going to be submitted for the November boards. My recruiter asked for an extension and I have not heard back from her yet. We didn’t get my packet submitted by the 27th. I have 6 years of experience in the operating room with various experiences from pediatrics to cardiac. I am prior law enforcement so nursing is my second career. I love what I do and am excited to take it to another level. I am currently working on my Master’s in Health Care Administration and won’t leave for COT until I am finished next August. CN said to finish the degree first. I could not imagine doing homework while trying to learn other things.
I live in Honolulu and started this process in July. The process has not been long for me. It has actually been pretty crazy though. After I read all the posts here I figured I had at least 6 months to get all my stuff together for my application. Boy was I wrong. My recruiter was on me all the time. I guess I assumed wrong because she told me that she wanted to submit my packet in Sept for the Nov boards. I was a bit surprised but agreed to do whatever she told me to in order to keep things moving.
I had the hardest time trying to choose my 8 locations. I live in Hawaii and absolutely love the weather here. I was born and raised in California but would not want to live there again. I would love to see some other countries though. My first choice was Nellis then Mt. Home, Peterson, Eglin. I have a 17 year old and is considering going to UNLV hence my first choice. I have spent plenty of time in LV and am very familiar with the weather so if I don’t get my first choice I won’t be heart broken.
I am also very thankful that I am still in school and don’t feel like I am playing the waiting game because I really can’t do anything until I finish school next year. I have plenty of homework to keep me busy!
