AF Nov 2011 Boards

Published

Well the paperwork and interview are finished and I'm just waiting to see if I get in. Just wanted to start this thread for others in the Nov 2011 boards and see who the competition is. ;) Good luck to everyone.

Oh, a quick rundown on me. I'm 33 with 2 years ICU, ER, and Supervisor experience graduating with my BSN in May 2012. I'm seeking anykind of commissioning but hopefully a flight or ICU position. I'm an active individual so not really worried about the PT, just ready to get going serving my country.

Ok, I heard we have a good chance to hear before Thanksgiving. As mentioned above, Nov 18 would be great. I have the attitude of tell me the bad news early and fast so I can cry and move on, but if you are going to make me wait, then it better be good news! I know my recruiter had a few packages, she did not tell me exactly, but I think at least 6 to 8 packeges were sent. Does any body know how many their recruiter sent? I know, this is really not going to get me anywhere, but it is how I cope. I am suprised that this blog is so few people and so close to the board date. Maybe this is a good sign, that not a lot of applications are going this on this board. How is everyone's PT coming? I started this Couch to 5K program that is pretty easy so far. I have read that we have to do a 5K/3 mile in COT. Anyway, happy waiting everyone! and good luck!

You will turn blue holding your breath. When I was waiting...and waiting... and waiting the date kept getting moved back. I had been told I would hear in early November and go to COT in Jan. Nope. No word. None. but no news is good news, because the word finally came. In April and I left in May. It took only a year to get in. I think I got lucky. So now I've been in a year and a half. And that long horrible wait seems like nothing now. Everything is a waiting process and loads of paperwork. What you are doing is just the beginning! :)

Hang in there.

I think my recruiter said he had four applicants including myself.

My recruiter also had 4 applicants including mine. I really hope we hear before thanksgiving. I think I read somewhere on this forum that the military shuts down around the holidays:( well I guess it's out of our hands now so we better get used to waiting!!!:)

Ok, so I'm officially stressed out. My recruiter just called and informed me that my packet was being reviewed and they wanted to know if I had any additional certifications. Unfortunately I do not and now I'm worried that I may be a non-select because of that. Any similar situations out there? I'm freaking out:eek:

What certifications did you list? My recruiter contacted me this week with a new form I had to fill out. Looks like there will be a $30,000 bonus if we don't take student loan repayment for a 4 year commitment. I was excited but still nervous about getting in. On the bright side I lost 5 pounds this last couple of weeks and my PT is getting better everyday. Good luck to us all.

I also signed the bonus paperwork last week. My certifications include: BLS, NRP, ACLS. That's it. I'm so nervous that my lack of certifications will cause me to be a non-select:(:crying2:

Don't let it bother you too much. At least you have ACLS. The only thing I wish I had was my CCRN.

Just wanted to post an update:

For the last two days my recruiter has called me for additional paperwork. She said the board is reviewing my packet and want proof of additional CEUs as well as the lessons we covered in NRP. I've submitted all this information to her in a timely manner but I must admit that every time my phone rings and I see her number I am about ready to have a STROKE!!!! I know it's too early for the board to have made any selections but I can't help but wonder how much longer I'll be sitting on the edge of my seat. Anyone else have an update? Oh yeah, I should definitely have more patience. I started this process in June of this year, so it's only been about 5 months. Too bad patience has never been an attribute I possess:uhoh3:

Hi Everyone!

Just wondering if anyone heard anything new, I emailed my recruiter and he said results should be out November 18th. Did anyone hear how many they are choosing within each specialty? Good luck to all of you!

I have not heard anything either. I guess it is still to early. I will feel the excitement more on the 18th. Great news before the holidays is a wonderful gift for us all!
