AF Nov 2011 Boards

Published

Well the paperwork and interview are finished and I'm just waiting to see if I get in. Just wanted to start this thread for others in the Nov 2011 boards and see who the competition is. ;) Good luck to everyone.

Oh, a quick rundown on me. I'm 33 with 2 years ICU, ER, and Supervisor experience graduating with my BSN in May 2012. I'm seeking anykind of commissioning but hopefully a flight or ICU position. I'm an active individual so not really worried about the PT, just ready to get going serving my country.

Yea, no word here yet, but hoping for the best. So what is everyone's expectations? I personally want to pursue my Master's either in Administration of Nurse Parctitioner as soon as stationed permanently. Even if I have to fund it. I would like to live on base but realize ther will be a waiting period. I am hoping to make the Air Force my career for the next 20 or more years.

I also would like to pursue a Master's in Administration. I'm actually torn between living on base vs. Off base. I grew up a military brat and enjoyed every second of living on base, but I've heard housing is a little short on the square footage and as an adult I'm used to space. I guess at this point it doesn't really matter. HAVE TO GET SELECTED FIRST!!!!!

You guys & gals for the November board may start to hear results soon...maybe as early as monday of next week (not today since veterans day). I fould out results a week before the estimated release date. What is your desired COT date?

I originally said I wanted to go to COT in January, but now I'm actually hoping for May so I will not have to either take the kids out of school mid year or live apart for 6 months while they finish school. Is it possible to request a later COT date? If not I'll head to Alabama in January:)

Hello everybody-I am new to this, but have been pulling my hair out since my recruiter told me the release for November 2011 picks would be out on the 8th and are now pushed back to the 18th. I am just searching the web for any sort of sign that they may come out early. I know many of you have stated that your recruiter asked for certifications to send them, but I honestly do not believe this is an indication that they are more interested in us over other applicants since there were so many of us that they asked this of, but I could be wrong. I never like to get my hopes up though. I was active duty back in 1999-2003 as an enlisted person, so I know that the military-especially the Air Force-is hard to figure out sometimes. But, I am really looking for an ICU or ER slot, and sent them all of my certifications, but they are going to put you were they put you...no matter what your qualifications are because you never stay there for long anyways. You tend to float around the hospital the majority of the time, filling holes were they need you too. But, if anyone hears anything, please let me know before I pop an aneurysm...:p and good luck to all of you!

I hope you are right about hearing early! That would be awesome. Like you said, I would really like to press if my life is not about to head in the military directions...and, if I do get selected I have to sell my house yet! Anyone have any suggestions on how to do that on the quick?

Contact an agent and get that sucker on the market! Just getting it prepped and listed doesn't obligate you to sell if anything doesn't work out. I had my house on the market for a full year while I was working on paperwork for the Army Nurse Corps. Never did sell it -- too many foreclosures in my old neighborhood, so I ended up renting it out, in the end. Good luck!!

Hello everyone!!!

I have been following this blog for a while but this is my first time posting. I am not a nurse but I'm applying for commission to the MSC to become a Hospital Administrator so I feel a little bit like an outsider on this blog. I have search the internet for a blog related to the field (AF Hospital Administration) but this seems to be the only blog related to MSC so I do not know if that is a good indication or not.....As a former Air Force recruiter (Enlisted) I expected the process to be lengthy but I have to be honest that it has been longer than what I expected. I feel like I have a decent application package but you never know what the board is looking for. I am super anxious to find the results and only hope to get good news. The fact that Nov 18 is next week makes me nervous. I hope everyone here makes it and I wisheach one of you the best luck.

Will Friday be the Day? Or do we live in fear and anticipation a while longer?

Hey to All,

I too, await with great anticipation. I was told by my recruiter that there is a new program mangager for the Boards so, she was not ableto get any early answers on who was in; that the Col. has to sign off on the boards selection. So, I wonder if anyone know anything at all?

She told me that sometime this week ( Friday? ) that I may know if I am accepted for the USAF.

Can't wait! But...I gotta.

I am hoping to line up with the January COT dates. Anyone else looking for the January COT dates to be approved for them?
