from the DOS website: The current level of demand in many of the Employment-based categories has been MUCH LOWER than anticipated. As a result, the June cut-off dates have been advanced significantly in an effort to maximize number use under the annual numerical limits. At this time it appears likely that there will be additional advances during the coming months.

this is great news for all of us waiting for visa numbers and for all of us who thinks that the CIR bill is the only way to get in immigrant visa.....let me remind you that the dates moving forward is NOT always the case. Visa numbers can retrogress and go back a few years as what happened before but this gives us a glimmer of hope

how to use the Visa Bulletin chart. example: if a Philippine-born nurse files his/her I-140 BEFORE JUNE 01, 2005 it means that an immigrant visa number is available for you and your family and processing will continue. This is applicable for both Consular Processing and Adjustment of Status.......

So I am a UK nurse with a PD date of May 2005 does this mean i should get a visa number now, we got up to pkt 3 when retrogresion hit. So have been stuck in limbo land since then as well as many others.

just rang still no new msg, petitions being done for june 2005 confused now as our PD date is may 2005

Just spoke to agency and YES am correct as my PD date is may 2005 the NVC should soon begin to proceed with my application:monkeydance: :monkeydance: :balloons: so excited am litteraly out of breath.

Please god let there be no more bad news.

We were upto pkt 3 according to agency NVC may take upto 3-4 weeks to get to my file but all going well and no more hiccups should be out in USA Oct -Nov :monkeydance:

for healthworkers not needing labor certifications like nurses and PT's, the Priority Date is when the I-140 is filed......

So what if the PD was later than June 2005 but the file is sitting on a desk at the Embassy (packet 4)....do you think the case would proceed to interview? What I'm not understanding is...if the nurse has her file at the Embassy already, does this mean a visa number is already allocated?

had a friend whos interview at embassy was cancelled when the visas ran out even though she had been sent a letter asking her to go so im not sure about that one letina
