EMPLOYMENT-BASED VISA AVAILABILITY DURING THE COMING MONTHS
from the DOS website: The current level of demand in many of the Employment-based categories has been MUCH LOWER than anticipated. As a result, the June cut-off dates have been advanced significantly in an effort to maximize number use under the annual numerical limits. At this time it appears likely that there will be additional advances during the coming months.
this is great news for all of us waiting for visa numbers and for all of us who thinks that the CIR bill is the only way to get in immigrant visa.....let me remind you that the dates moving forward is NOT always the case. Visa numbers can retrogress and go back a few years as what happened before but this gives us a glimmer of hope
how to use the Visa Bulletin chart. example: if a Philippine-born nurse files his/her I-140 BEFORE JUNE 01, 2005 it means that an immigrant visa number is available for you and your family and processing will continue. This is applicable for both Consular Processing and Adjustment of Status.......
Hi Ann, I thought your I-140 was approved in Feb 2006, when was it actually filed? If it was filed sooner than Feb 2006 you may be nearer the front of the queue than you thought
Just been looking in my file.
I-140 , Immigration Petition for Alien Worker
Feb 9 2006
Priority Date
Feb 27 2006
My case was complete
Aug 24 206
Oh well, it's still good news right? Maybe you won't be going to Oz after all :wink2: (If the next bulletin moves forward again)
Too right Sport, USA will always come first.
We are happy family again tonight roll on June 15 for next up date. I hope we are not getting our hopes up for nothing.
Good news. Everyone will be waiting for next month's Visa BulletinThis month's Visa Bulletin was a big jump from the last. If the trend continues (knock on wood), next month's Bulletin will cover those who filed in 2006 and hopefully visa fee bills and DS-230 forms are going to start to be sent again and those whose DS-230 forms that were previously sent back because of unavailability of visas can be accepted again.
I'm sure this is the same for those undergoing AOS.
Thanks for the update.
Until actual visas are current and available, this will not help those that are under the AOS. The visas are still not current for all, and that is what is needed for the AOS petitions to be accepted. Those that started the process that long ago, and their documents were correct, already have their green card.
18 months ago, the green card processing was just a matter of months, no more than 7 or so on average.

Oh yeah... that's right. Forgot about that. They have to wait for next month's Visa Bulletin if it will forward some more.
