Hey so before I started nursing school I finished all of my co reqs such as A&P 1 & 2 ect...my friend that is also in the nursing program failed A&P1 last semester after she was accepted and you get two attempts at it so she is retaking it now. Anyways I am extremely annoyed because she is constantly asking me for all of my lab work from last semester and expects free access codes from me and books. I don't think it's fair that I worked my ASS off last semester to get an A and then she thinks nothing of it and just wants to copy all of my work!!! I am a nice person so it's hard for me to stand up for myself but she thinks nothing of it and always says "I'm lucky" that I'm done with those classes, well excuse me! I put the time in, idk what to do about this, she is ALWAYS in drama too I can't stand the laziness and complaining but unfortunately we have every class together, thankfully we are only school friends, after this semester I am making sure to make a schedule opposite of hers I cannot stand the way she thinks it's okay. sorry for babbling..

I get people who will ask me for previous class work all the time. I tell them I don't have it or didn't keep it.
That's the plan..unfortunately I'm too nice to say no straight up...so I'm just going to say I tossed it after the semester lol ugh

Congrats on your great grade! she needs to know what caused her problems when she first took the class and not just ask for your previous work since that won't help solve her problem. you should be more firm in your answer and let her know. maybe you could help her find out what caused her to not pass the class but don't give your work.

Providing your homework to a student currently taking a class is most likely a violation of school policy. You are risking a lot giving her the answers.
True very good points..and maybe I should mention that to her then? I will not be used.

If you're only friends within school, I say you don't need a friend like that. Not only is she coming by her work unfairly, but she is also asking you to risk your academic enrollment by giving her previous lab homework, etc. Definitely against school policy and can have dire consequences.
Yeah you guys are right, I'm not risking my enrollment for anyone, she has to do the work just like everyone else does and if she doesn't like that then oh well she can fail

What to say here...... Can't say what I want to say due to terms of service, so I will just say....
In no way would I give her anything! You have to understand A&P to understand nursing school. She didn't pass cause she couldn't do or understand the work the first time. Give me a break, you do not need a leach, that isn't a friend.

I agree with all of the PPs. There is nothing wrong with being a nice person, but, when people start abusing this kindness it is time to set them free. Anyone who blatantly uses you is not a "friend." I am sure you worked hard and honestly to get through these courses and you would be doing yourself no favors by allowing this person to use your work. As many others mentioned, it is also probably against school policy and could get you into trouble.
I learned that there is a firm, yet, polite way to let someone know that you will not tolerate their, ahem, crap. Now would be a good time to start working on being assertive...you can still be a nice person while standing up for yourself.

Yeah I've been there. I too am the nice person that gets taken advantage of. I had to learn to say no. It gets easier.
