Advice on comfortable shoes

Published

Hi everyone,

I need advice on what are the most comfortable and long lasting shoes for general floor nurses? I live in Columbia, South Carolina.

Thanks very much

In my facility the Dansko are the most popular, but I have really bad plantar fasciitis in my foot and actually prefer the Aligria brand. Both are super comfortable and have really thick soles. I tried VERY EXPENSIVE tennis shoes for a long time and came home limping (many nights my husband had to help me into the shower from such horrific foot pain). It took a while to catch on to 'nurses' shoes' but once I did I've never looked back. I have all sorts of energy left after working.

Bottom line: Your feet are your feet alone and only you can figure out what works for you.

I like my Nurse Mates; good support and they have some cute styles! I love wearing really good running sneakers at work, that feels the best, but the Nurse Mates are a little more cost effective.

I love ASICS GEL tennis shoes.

I like my Sketchers tennis shoes. They have a memory foam insole and come in a lot of fun colors. I'm sure you will get a different recommendation from everyone!

Yes, I agree to that! I've tried sketchers and I find that they are a little slippery when the floor gets wet. I am worried that I will slip and fall.

But thanks, I really appreciate it!

I might take a look at those. Thanks!

Thanks for the advice.

I find that my feet are my "epi centre", so I don't care about the $$$ aspect, if my feet are cold, my body is cold; if my feet ache, it makes my whole body ache.

I tried to look at AN.com and nothing comes up except for a site that says "searchfusion.com"!!! Can you please give me more details about the site?

Thanks
