ADN students...how quickly will you enroll for BSN?

Published

I graduate next week with my ADN and am already starting the process for ADN-BSN for starting this Fall. Figured would be nice to get it over with!

I will apply to start the following semster. I graduate my ADN in December 2014. I plan on starting my BSN in January 2015.

This is what I did. I found a program and did two classes while I was studying for the NCLEX. I transferred since then to a quicker program online.

The school I am applying to(local to my area) will allow us to reg for their RN-BSN program with our temp license. which should be posted by June 15...I should have my license in hand before starting though!

I graduated on Wednesday and will probably take a whole year off. I'm trying to study for boards, move, and start a job. Plus I'm not sure I have all the pre-reqs (and haven't even bothered to look). I know I'd probably flunk out if I tried to do my BSN right now. I'll be looking to start in Spring or Summer 2014.

This is not universally true, the majority of the programs I am looking into will take recent ADN students, even if they have not sat for NCLEX and passed.

I'm not saying it's universally true, I am saying that is what I am doing at my university.

I earned two Bachelor's degrees between Jan 2008 and August 2011 and started my ADN in Sept 2011. I graduate in August!!!! I plan to start my BSN in December of this year. That gives me a few months to collect myself after over 5 straight years of school.

Our program has a transfer agreement with university where I'll finish the BSN. I'm concurrently enrolled and will work on courses towards the BSN while completing the ADN. That way, when I get my RN, I'll only have 4 semesters of just clinicals left to do when I graduate. It's all part-time and designed for you to work as an RN while you're completing the BSN. I'm excited! I definitely want to get into a graduate program right away, if I can afford it. I'm leaning towards PA since there's more job opportunity around here than NP.

Why do RN if you wanna do PA?

Why do RN if you wanna do PA?

Because PA is a graduate program so you have to have a BSN to apply.

I start a week after graduation

Same here. Graduate this week, have off next week, then start BSN the following week.

Specializes in Nursing Education, CVICU, Float Pool.

I graduated May 9th 2013. I am set-up to start WGU in July. After I pass my soon to come NCLEX and start work!!!

Where are you guys going for your BSN???? Do you plan to continue to graduate school? Advanced Practice?

I plan become a FNP in the future

Don't want to wait and become complacent or content. Will keep in going until I'm done, whatever I decide "done" is! Lol????

Actually, you don't have to have a BSN to apply. You only might have to have a Bachelor's Degree in any field with the proper science background to apply. The reason I say "might" is because there are PA programs that aren't even a Bachelor's level program...
