ADN Fall 2011 Hopefuls!!!

I wanted to start a thread for those of you who have or will apply to ADN programs for the Fall 2011 semester. I have started the process but I have completed my application yet. I am nervous and super stressed. Join this thread so we can vent together. Share our journeys into nursing school.

They let us know by march 18th. Too long from now. But i know it will be worth the wait.

Does anyone have an interest in a certain part of nursing already? I know this is likely to change once we get in there...but at the moment what do you have your eye on?

I am an IBCLC and I have been helping a homebirth midwife off and on for a few years now. I am really hoping that I can work on an OB unit somewhere and help moms that want to have a natural birth in the hospital to acheive their dreams and of course I want to help moms be successful with breastfeeding. :-)

Your nursing school says that we should get a decision by May 31th. That's a really long time for now. Hopefully that is a ballpark figure when actually get them a little bit earlier...

As far as specialties, I was also think about OB unit or a burn unit.

Two applications one could be as early as next month, the other late march-mid april

Ours is Due by Feb 1st and we get the results about the same time as you late may. The wait last yr seemed so long... Needless to say, I didnt get in. I am much more hopeful this yr. I have alot more points. I know the wait is still going to kill me though.

Our community college deadline is Jan 31th. I have to go tomorrow to make sure everything is in order. I am so ready to be accepted and start nursing school!

I also applied to 2 ADN programs for the fall 2011 semester. I will have a better idea maybe in march where I stand schoolwise. Im just really dreading math.

I have a bit of delightful news....

I met with my nursing counselor today to make sure they had gotten my TEAS scores. And I asked her "what here the ranges in points of people who were accepted into the nursing program last year?" And she told me it varied from 22 points to 72 points.

That made my day. I have about 45 points by the end of the semester. I think Santa came early for me this year :)

I ask the same question about our points and the "average" was 42-59. I will have 52 so I am feeling hopeful too!
