I wanted to start a thread for those of you who have or will apply to ADN programs for the Fall 2011 semester. I have started the process but I have completed my application yet. I am nervous and super stressed. Join this thread so we can vent together. Share our journeys into nursing school.
My ADN progam is on a lottery system, but it is a highly regarded program at a community college that has excellent teachers and tons of clinical experience to offer. There are many people that I have talked to that have moved clear from the east coast and Texas to complete the program (I am in CA). I was kind-of shocked to hear this, but figured that was a good sign. Some of the local hospitals offer "sponsored seats" to few people, where they have tuition assistance and offer a 2-3 year contract to work for them when the ADN program is completed. I just applied for my ADN program for Fall 2011 and also applied for a sponsored seat (awaiting my interview in a few weeks). The past 2 years have been rigorous and hard work, but I have really enjoyed school and am fascinated with most of the classes I have taken (except CHEM lol). Sooo looking forward to starting the program and continuing to work towards the career of my dreams! I wish everyone the best of luck in their pursuits!!!
I received my acceptance letter yesterday and I am still celebrating!! Full entry for UALR is contingent upon passing the Nursing Fundamentals (skills class) this summer. Orientation is on April 30th so now I have to be patient and wait until then. By the end of everything, I will have a new virtue--PATIENCE!!!
:up:Congrats to everyone who recently got accepted!!! You should be very proud!!!
:yeah:
I finally just got my NLN PAX score in the mail today. It took an entire month to get my score, since their equipment was broken for a while. I'm very happy with my score, and now I am waiting for the acceptance/denial letter.
I finished one type of waiting and immediately started another one!!! Oh well...
Okay. Seriously.Where is my mailman???
LOL.
For those that got accepted, how many days/weeks after the application deadline did it take to get your letter? My application deadline was only 2 days ago but I've been going nutty waiting for the mailman, ha ha
I am soooo with you.. my deadline was two days ago as well and i've done everything in my power not to pick up the phone to see if I'm in or not lol
I got my results for the NLN exam last Saturday, 12 days after the test and the acceptance letters for the nursing program at my school go out at the end of March. I called to find out the cut-off score and she told me not to loose sleep, I am in the top 10% and they choose 60 people so I am good to go. Just found an online A&PI and II that I will be taking and starting pharmacology in a few weeks online at another school. If anyone is interested in online anatomy with labs, look at Edukan, cayuga-cc.edu, mayvillestate.edu, riosalado.edu, ocean.edu, New England University. All these schools offer online A&P with lab. Edukan is the least expensive as they charge 125.00 per credit even for out of state where most of the schools charge at least 200 per credit for out of state. I spent many days researching and Edukan which is a consortium of colleges in Kansas accredited by the Higher Learning Commission seems to have the best reviews. It depends on the time you want to spend. They have only the final proctored and it is only 100 points out of 1,000 for the semester grade.

I know. Ugh....
I just figured out from older posts on here that last year's Spring class at my school found out eleven days from today's date. ELEVEN DAYS. I can't wait 11 days. I'll go crazy.....

My ADN program is apparently highly regarded and admission is really competitive. I have worked my butt off for the past two years to complete all my prerequisite material and have finally applied. Luckily, the application round accepts students for both fall admission and winter admission, so I am kind of banking on getting into winter admission. I am totally cool with that!
With luck, I bet my 85% TEAS could have got me into fall admission if had a 4.0 GPA (the only other admission factor), unfortunately I have a 3.3 so I'm sure that blew my chance. I have always had a hard time with school... especially with work on the side. But I won't ever give up!
I don't think I am supposed to hear back from admissions until mid-late April so I am super nervous waiting!
