It is required to get a background check done! I'm concerned because I have a suspended license because I didn't pay a ticket. Now I have a bench warrant out, but I can't just pay off what i owe. I either have to get an attorney to go to court to allow me to pay my fees and end the warrant. Or I have to turn myself in and get my dad to bail me out. I'm 21 with no other history except speeding tickets. Were trying to get it taken care of ASAP but Attorneys are very expensive. Help!will they deny me entrance into the program? Will it show up? I'm freaking out. I've been trying to get in for over a year and I got in, but I just dk what to do.

I think you will be ok I think they look for criminal, like felony or misdemeanor. You should be ok, but don't kill me if I am wrong.LOL

As long as you don't get arrested, you should be ok. Stay home - no driving until it gets cleared up and no turning yourself in! If you do end up going to jail, whether it be by choice or because the warrant is served, check out your state's declaratory order process - it may take you 2-6 months to get it cleared up, but I can't imagine you'd actually be denied.
The attorney thing is strange - I just cleared up a ticket warrant by giving them my credit card number over the phone. No big deal.

I would think that it would work out okay if you get it taken care of. I also think that you will have a problem if you don't before you get a background check for school, I can't see them letting you slide by with a warrant out for your arrest.

Call the DA's office.....Ask them if you can pay a reduced amount and then get it wiped off your record. Explain what you are trying to do and why this happened and why you can't pay it. If your dad can pay it, get him to pay it.
The background check, they are mainly looking for drug abuse, theft, things like that which would 1)prevent you getting licensed or 2)potentially be red flags for stealing narcotics, etc.

If its Faulkner State, every single thing will come up and you will get flagged. If its just for minor traffic violations then you should be fine. They will pull you aside if they need more information from you or if they will have an issue.

I had to do a full background check through the state (I go to a Catholic private school so it's pretty strict). Not sure what would pop up on it. It's something you take care of though. If it goes to far, you might have trouble getting hired in a competitive nursing market nowadays.

Not to be a killjoy here, but applying for nursing school with a warrant won't work. Get it taken care of first.
I've already applied and got accepted. It states " a positive criminal history may not allow you to partake in clinical componet" I don't have a criminal history. I have a warrant because I'm broke and couldnt afford to pay the ticket.
Did you go to Faulkner? That's where I got accepted. Lol. I'm taking care of it right now. My dad is calling an attorney tomorrow, then he just represents me in court, and I pay the costs and its done. Lol. So I think as long as it's taken care of before clinicals I'll be ok.
Yes, I went into the program there fall of lastyear. If they have a problem with it they will let you know before the first day of class.
