Accepted to Georgia Baptist Fall2007

Published

I just got accepted to the nursing program at Mercer. I am really excited and anxious as well. I would love to talk to anyone who will be going there in the fall of 2007.

Hi Opradiva,

I can not remember exactly how long it took, I think it was about 3 to 4 weeks and of course I was stalking the postman everyday until I finally received that letter.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!

Hey Opradiva!

I too have applied to Georgia Baptist. Just completed everything 2 weeks ago. I've already been accepted to an LPN program at Gwinnett Tech, but I'm trying to get as many options as possible. ;)

I've heard great things about Georgia Baptist. The admission lady said that acceptance letters will be going out all the way through August. I hope to hear something BEFORE summer.

Good luck to ya!

To tbrown1 and opradiva,

hey guys, i don't want to freak you out about the forms, but you can readily access these by going to http://www.mercer.edu, departments and admissions, then select admissions for georgia Baptist and and then enrollement forms. Just trying to give you heads up on all the requirements. I was a liitle overwhelmed at first, but it is really straightforward. Sue

Congrats, I applied to Georgia Baptist and GPC. I am transferring in, however, I haven't been in school in over 13 years. I really hope I am able to get into school and get my feet wet. Georgia Baptist claimed not to get my transcripts. Did you guys get in on the first try?

Hi harrisrn,

I got in the first time i applied.....have you completed all the prereqs that are required?

CONGRATS to you all!

Welcome to the GBCN family. I am going to start my final year in the fall. I have really enjoyed my experience. Let me tell everyone right now, it is going to be DIFFICULT and TEDIOUS but you must realize what you are training for. If you have any questions feel free to PM me so i can try to give you the scoop.

Hi,

it feels really good to finally find someone to talk to about mercer. please give me the scoop now. I want to be fully prepared before the program starts in fall. What is the genral passing rate or graduating rate of students in the school. Thanks so much for this infromation.

Well,

I am not sure what the general passing rate is. My class is about 110 students from a beginning class of maybe 130. A lot of people had a difficult time with Pharmacology which is in the beginning of the junior year. For me, OB/PEDS semester was the most difficult. I had absoultely ZERO free time at all. I know that the class that graduated in either 2002/2003 had an NCLEX passing rate of like 93% and due to that the college implemented a policy where there is no rounding of grades. That setback a lot of people who were borderline. They have started to increase the intensity of the program in hopes of increasing the NCLEX scores. I havent seen any recent scores. The professors are awesome and there are so many people to meet and network with. I think your class ( Fall 2007) has about 160 students! They are going to break you up into groups so that everyone can fit into the lecture hall. It really helps, in my opinion to have that extra year of clincal. Anyway, let me know if anyone needs any other info

Congratulations and welcome to the GA Baptist family You are going to love it Sue!! I too am a second career/degree nursing student at GBCN. I just finished my first year!! It was intense, but so interesting. My suggestion is to get involved with the student nurse organizations on campus. Make sure to get organized prior to school beginning because you won't have much time along the way.

Good luck!!
