Hey everybody!
I just wanted to start a separate thread regarding our acceptance into the FSCJ (a.k.a. FCCJ) Summer 2010 "RN" program. I know we've all been posting to the "hopefuls" page but now that we aren't "hopefuls" anymore, and we're more like "stressfuls"... I thought I'd start a new page... JOIN ME! :)
I guess it is technically called something else other than "RN program" but... here we go anyway.
I'm still a bit confused as to whether, during orientation, I should be more focused on getting a hospital close to my house or a teacher that will be great during my first term.
Does anyone have any suggestions on this? I've always made the teacher my first priority but I'm curious as to whether or not, those of you who have been there, think that there is a big enough difference in teachers that we would be wise to drive for miles to get to a specific one.
Thanks SaraFL for the email.
So there were 6 of us at Orientation today 3 D & 3 N/W ... All of us in Days got section 6... And I think the 3 n/w got section 8. If anyone in any of the other daytime sections wants to switch let me know.
At this point I'm grateful to be in and am jumping through as many hoops as I can to stay in.
I'm looking forward to meeting you all come May 10th!
Congrats.
Im quite surprised that Section 6 is the last section.
It was my first choice and I wanted a low number so I could get it and I did :)
Aside from the clinical teacher which isnt on ratemyprofessors, I've heard good things from Keister and Wilford. Boyd had some pretty mixed reviews, but she was teaching sections 3-6 anyway.
And Baptist Beach is easy to go to for me.

My dilemma is that my kids daycare opens at 6:30 and is downtown... How do I get to Baptist Beach in 15mins without a police escort?
For those of you who have purchased the Term 1 Box, What comes in it? Which books?
Yea for you JenPerez!!! I'm in section 4 but I'm sure we may see eachother in passing at some point.
The boxes of books aren't in yet. They will be coming in over spring break. I'll have to get my list to let you know what all is in them. The box is expensive, but I've heard many people saying that it is a far better way to go than trying to buy them each individually. The lady from the book company said at orientation that the total cost of the books are at a 50% discounted rate.

The reason i asked is because looking at THIS semesters books for identical courses (and upgrading to the newest additions) is cheaper online than the posted prices at our bookstore online... Atleast the ones that HAVE prices. I was looking strictly at the ones listed in the packet... but the bookstore lists several others...I just didn't want to duplicate the box... and of course if I could buy the contents of the box for cheaper I will... I suspect I will be at the bookstore the first day after break comparing prices...
