Hey everybody!
I just wanted to start a separate thread regarding our acceptance into the FSCJ (a.k.a. FCCJ) Summer 2010 "RN" program. I know we've all been posting to the "hopefuls" page but now that we aren't "hopefuls" anymore, and we're more like "stressfuls"... I thought I'd start a new page... JOIN ME! :)
I guess it is technically called something else other than "RN program" but... here we go anyway.
I'm still a bit confused as to whether, during orientation, I should be more focused on getting a hospital close to my house or a teacher that will be great during my first term.
Does anyone have any suggestions on this? I've always made the teacher my first priority but I'm curious as to whether or not, those of you who have been there, think that there is a big enough difference in teachers that we would be wise to drive for miles to get to a specific one.
IHello all,I may be a little late on this one, but is anyone else having trouble logging into th Meridys website to order unioorms. It keeps saying the passcode in our packet is invalid.
I was just on the site last night. The code is on top of the form that breaks down what we need to order. Its FSCJ not FCCJ.
I received my uniforms the other day... I am kind of difficult to purchase clothing for since I am short... a smidge under 5 ft., a little out of shape, and breastfeeding (which does make a difference up top). I USUALLY wear Mediums. I ORDERED SMALL (Petite small no less) PANTS (1 of each kind), and both fit. The only things I ordered Medium was a skirt and both a lab coat and the fitted top... the top fit, but the lab coat and skirt are WAY too big. I am returning both for correct sizes but was surprised they didn't fit. The skirt has an elastic waist but I had figured it wouldn't so I went with my usual size. The skirt was super long as well.
I plan on returning the things that didn't fit Monday (putting it in the mail). SO if anyone wants it, I'll sell it to you. Just let me know before Monday. Medium Skirt $19(approved but optional for the program per our orientation packet), and Medium Lab Coat $22. OR I will trade someone for a SMALL LAB COAT if they NEED A MEDIUM LAB COAT.
I usually wear an 8 or 10 pants due to my butt... the smalls fit. What side of town are you on? You could try mine on if you'd like. Though my pants are petites so they may not fit in the legs.
If you fit a small then I probably do to, Im the same way, if it werent for my but Id probably be a 6 lol. so Ill go ahead and get the smalls in the labcoat as well. Thanks alot for the info, it helped out alot!!!. How long ago did you order your items?

I was accepted on Wednesday, attended the late orientation on Thursday, and ordered uniforms late Thursday Night, Uniforms received this Wednesday. So less than a week turn around time.

On a totally different note then all the book talk - I noticed a few pregnant ladies in our orientation. What are the "rules" if you get pregnant during nursing school - do you take a semester off (if you choose) and hope that a space opens up for you to get back in?
