Ok, no one has started this yet, so I guess I will. I start A&P I on January 18th, lab and lecture.
Here are a few good websites I have found...some are basic, some may be more indepth than your instructor asks for.....BUT it gives you a little more to look over before class starts next month! :) ....Never forget the website for your actual book too!!!!!!
GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU

Hi,
I have only 3 weeks left in A&P I and I am totally stressed. Starting Saturday I have a test every Tuesday and Saturday from now until then. Bones, muscles, muscle lecture, blood, heart. How am I going to prepare for all this? I don't want to start off with a bad attitude but it just seems so overwhelming. HELP!!!

Well I am psyched! I just got my grade for lecture exam #3 that I was sure I got a B on because I was so sick...I got a 94! My overall average in the lab/lecture right now is 99.3! I am so proud of myself at this moment..I honestly think I am going to go shove a huge sundae down my face wether I need it or NOT ha ha ha ha!
Still enjoying spring break here...working on my case study. We had to pick any disorder/disease/etc etc that dealt with any of the systems we have done so far. I am doing mine on Keratosis Pilaris ( common benign epidermal/follicular disorder) because my son has it and it runs in my family. It's pretty easy to do a case study on so I am rocking it out a page a day.
When we come back we have lab exam #3 which is on the spinal nerves, the eye, the ear, the endocrine glands, and the classifications, projections, and processes of bones plus the long bone ( diaphysis, etc etc). I feel pretty OK ready for it...just need to get my endocrine histology slides to memory.

Take a deep breath! I understand the "overwhelming" feeling. Just remember..one day at a time. Pick a topic for that day and study until you have it down pat- and remember to take breaks and get some fresh air. These 3 weeks will be over before you know it. GOOD LUCK!
Great news! :)I got the result of my second test today:
Lab: 94%
Lec:93%
Katie :)
Congrats!!
Our second lecture and second lab practical is coming up. Thursday, April 7th for the lab, probably that weekend for the lecture. I am not ready for it AT ALL!!! Nervous tissue and muscle tissue is kicking my gluteals. Sad....it's really not that hard. ....again, just memorization. I just have so much going on right now.
My daughter made the freshman cheerleading team for her high school for next year, so that load is off my shoulders. lol
Now, if I can manage to balance A&P I and my new 6-week Developmental Psychology class, I'll be doing good!!
Today I took a break though. We went to the mall and saw Ms. Congeniality 2, then went to On the Border :beercuphe
...now back to studying to beat this stuff into my head.
How many people are left in your class? There was 12 left in mine as of last week. There may be less now because they extended the withrawl date until today. We started with almost 30. Is this the norm or is the drop rate unusually high maybe because it's an online class? I will say that this class is hard! I'm struggling to maintain an A and don't know if I can do it. I may have to settle for the B. My test scores are going south since mid-terms even though I feel I've prepped just the same as before. I got an 80 on a test last week, but the class average was a 69. I don't even want to tell you what I got on this week's test. (68!!! :imbar Ouch!!! I've NEVER gotten such a score before!)
Is anyone else taking their lecture and lab online? I'm debating whether to do it again for A&P II over the summer......but online is soooooo convenient with 3 kids!
There are 8 ( yep 8) people left in my lab class. We had another test today and I know more are going to be dropping since the withdrawal date is his week.
Our lecture is a combination of 2 labs. We started with about 40 students and are down to about 18 or so?
I am planning on taking II online over the summer. I didn't really WANT to take it online but I am THRILLED they added one because I can't make it to campus 4X a week with kids either!
We started out with 24, and I haven't seen a dramatic change.
I really think my instructor is great, and drops would only be from not enough time to study.
I have my 2nd (out of 3) lab test this Thursday (4/7), and the 2nd lecture exam (out of 3) is next week.
I don't remember the drop date, but I think it is after those tests. So, we have a dramatic change after next week.
Sorry about the bad grade! OUCH is right! Hang in there, hope it all pulls together nicely at the end. :)
BOONERSMOM: I'm so happy your class situation worked out for you!

Hey guys, I need some studying advice...
I'm doing really well in my lecture (low A w/the class average at 70) but I am doing horribly in my lab. I have a 60% overall right now in the lab...I really wanna cry. I'm working hard in both...my lecture is more physiology and my lab is more anatomy. I'm doing everything I can to try to memorize the muscle names and insertions, bone names, ect ect. I've tried note cards, supplimental readings, games, everything I can think of but it doesn't stick. Does anyone have a good way to memorize all this stuff? It's too much for me to memorize all the muscles in one week. We have a quiz every lab, and even though there isn't too much of the semester left, I really want to raise my lab grade as much as possible. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Amanda
Hi, everyone :Melody:
I am finally taking A&P this spring, class began today. Wish me luck, this is my first college course in 12 years. If anyone has any study tips for this class, please don't hesitate to share. I am also prepping for the RN pre-entrance exam :rotfl: . If anyone has any tips please share, I am so afraid of failing this exam. I need to pass in order to be accepted into the nursing program in Jan 2006.
Wow, I think my lecture class has dropped down to 8 people! At least that's how many people have taken this week's test. (Okay, they've got 55 more minutes to take it online. Not Likely!) At least my score of 68% on this last test is above the class (of 8) average of 67%.....sheesh!
My lab class is apparently down to 10 people as well.
I'm going to get the Tortora text asap and see if it'll help keep me from spiraling downhill. I hate that dammed Marieb book. I've gotten some pretty reliable information that the Marieb book is a lot harder to read, way too detailed. I believe it. Wish I would have investigated this sooner.
