A&P 1: The Spring '05 Anatomy & Physiology Club

Published

Ok, no one has started this yet, so I guess I will. I start A&P I on January 18th, lab and lecture.

Here are a few good websites I have found...some are basic, some may be more indepth than your instructor asks for.....BUT it gives you a little more to look over before class starts next month! :) ....Never forget the website for your actual book too!!!!!!

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU

I got a 73 on my first test, I knew it would come out in the C range. I was greatful. I predicted that I would get either a C or possibly a B. :balloons: :balloons: :yeahthat: :smiley_aa :lol_hitti

On our grading scale a 73 is a D. :angryfire

I am so happy to hear so many are doing well on their tests. Kudos to you!

I would like to know if there are any people struggling already? I am not in the position I thought I would be in at this point. Right now I have a low C. Basically I am trying to get used to school and tests again since it has been 14 years. I have three kids and work. This has been hard. I can't get to the practice lab or study groups like a lot of the others are doing. I want to succeed, but now am scared I won't. Now, I have the added pressure to maintain and bring up that C! I am studying 3 hours a night, taking notes and making flash cards, but I don't seem to have "enough" time to drill it all in before the next test.

Again, congratulations to the students doing so well.

I made a CD of my notes, and listen to it everytime I get into the truck. (in addition to my other studying)

Thank God I am not working, and my kiddos are leaving me alone for the most part when they are not at school.

Good luck.

I hate when instructors/schools do that......that is "STUPID"!!!!!!!!

To me, a "C" means you have studied, but not quite remembering everything.

A "D" means you played way more than studied.

(This it how it is FOR ME, not for everyone....hope I'm not stepping on any toes here.)

BTW......"B" means you're almost there...you may just have had test anxiety.

"A".....YOU STUDIED YOUR orifice OFF!!!!!!!! :rotfl: :chuckle :p

Are you guys doing integumentary system yet? Is anyone?

If anyone has come up with a good way to remember all the layers of the epidermis, can you please let me know!

THANK YOU FUN2CARE!

Our test on Monday covers the Integumentary System and this will help ALOT in my memorization!

Hey guys, its been a while since I posted, I have been studying my little hiney off for my first A&P test. I will be taking it Tuesday. He went over it today and it seems like its going to be pretty straight forward.

Fun2care: The integumentary system is in our next unit test. I will surely be writing down that little jingle LOL. Keep them coming girl, you rock!!!!!

Hi to all those who are new, sorry I missed your introductions. Good luck to all those who have test coming up. Remember we are all in this together! :p

Ok I need to go find where I left off on this thread and play catch up.

OOOh I am so glad there is an A+P I club! I started classes/lab on Tuesday and so far it's really easy but that's only because we are doing stuff I already knew. We just started tissues Thurs and didn't even get past Simple Epithelium because my class asks a lot of questions ( too many but that's just my .02 LOL!). I have a lab quiz on Tues but it's only on planes, cavities + subcavities + serous membranes.

I like my professor even though she has a THICK accent - but it's Russian and since I can speak Russian I understand her...although I know a lot of my classmates are struggling to comprehend her at times.

I've already found that I have no need to drag my books to class. We just use the paper supplements and she gave us every single power point she will be using all semester...so I just jot notes on them.

Welcome BoonersMom!

I feel sorry for the other classmates! I had to drop an Algebra class b/c the instructor was from Nigeria. I couldn't understand a single word he said!!! It actually really ticked me off! lol Anyway, that was a long time ago, and I have since taken, and passed College Algebra.....whewwwww

As for books, I don't think we need to bring our lecture book. For some strange reason, I bring it anyway. :uhoh3: I think I may leave it at home. I've talked to my hubby about me asking the instructor if we really needed to bring it. I just never think about it once I get to class.

Good luck in your class, and let us know if you have any questions. Maybe someone can help. :)

I had the most amazing field trip last night! Our A&P instructor also teaches Gross Anatomy to first year med students, so we got to go to the Gross Anatomy lab. Wow. I can't even describe it. It is a whole different ballgame to actually see where everything is and how it all connects. If any of you get an opportunity like this, don't pass it up.

Hello everyone!

My name is Amanda and I saw this thread and wanted to join in on all the fun. I am not a prenursing student (hope that's ok) but I'm studying nutrition for the medical field and I am taking A&P I this semester.

We are on histology right now in our lecture and lab...right now I'm trying to memorize function and location of them. Luckily our lab ta's broke them up so we focused on epithelial and connective tissues last week; this week will be cartilage, bone, and blood. Hoping to do well on the lab quiz this week.

How are your lab tests? We only have two tests and they are 100% practical tests. I'd rather have a standard test...oh well. We only have three tests in our lecture (2 + comprehensive final).

Anyway thanks for letting me in on all the fun! All the suggestions and websites have been great so far...keep em coming!
