88% in A&P 1

So close to an A.. I would've had straight A's this semester. Really mad that I only got 2 points away from an A but that's ok. Is that still good?

Pinkrain94 - it is really not fair or professional to attack TiffyRN that way. You asked for an opinion and she provided an honest opinion based on her experience. She may have been a bit harsh, but you cannot ask for opinions and not expect to encounter one you don't like. Attacking her and her practice - which you know nothing about - just makes you look immature. Life lesson? Disagree respectfully and move on.

And I agree with PP that you were being disrespectful in your last post. Although TiffyRN didn't word her post with lovely compliments, it's very unfair to criticize her and her profession based on a simple comment. Please be more respectful to others.

No, she made a smart comment at me after she gave me her opinion. There's a difference between an opinion which I accepted and difference between being a complete jerk. She decided to be the jerk. I do have the right to say what I said because you don't treat people like that. She obviously doesn't know how to be nice on the forums. If anyone seeks advice, you try to help them not the other way around. She is the one not being professional at all. I'm sure you wouldn't take it lightly either Viva. That's no way to tell someone who has a passion for Nursing that I did extremely terrible the second time around.

I had to take A&P 1 the second time around because I wasn't serious my first year of college. That is typical in a person just out of high school. Most people are lost and confused and not sure how to take on the real world. Before you judge me, please remind yourself that I am a real person with feelings. I know I am not a straight A student. You don't know my life at all. And with that I am done with my discussion. I will be professional and say I am sorry for my remarks. But please be a little nicer to pre nursing students, it is a hard course.

I accept your apology.

I was honestly trying to help you have an easier time through nursing school by getting a more solid foundation in A&P. When it became obvious you didn't want advice but simply positive affirmations I admit I was annoyed. I should have put down my phone.

To clarify though, I've been on these boards for almost 11 years and I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've had these kinds of accusations leveled at me.

Trust me, u are good to go with a 88% I'm freaking out over a 78.

TiffyRN, you are the worst nurse if you have an attitude like that...

At least she IS a nurse. Perhaps you should actually get through a nursing program BEFORE you deem yourself the arbiter on who should and should not be a nurse.

That was harsh...

Anyway OP congrats on your grade. From the sounds of it you worked your butt off the second time around and you should be proud.

It's sad I'm being cyber bullied by many people on this forum.. Anyway, I thought our argument was over but some people still want to continue this on. The fact is, I already apologized and so did she in her own way. But before you say I should get through the nursing program first, that is dead wrong. You can tell who is going to be a good nurse before they get into the program. You can have straight A's but if your attitude is heartless towards other people, you are not a good fit. They got through it, but some people are only in it for the money. (She reminded me of a person that had a snobby attitude because she got into the program and literally said, can't wait to make a lot of money) Which is disgusting and for some reason she reminded me of that person. But I am most likely wrong, however, I don't know her in real life. Anyway, I would like to move on and if anyone wants to keep harassing me over the issue, you are just as immature as both of us when me and her were arguing.

And Thank You. The only reason I made the topic was because I was frustrated on getting a high B. I had straight A's in the class up until the last lab exam and the final which made me get a B in the end. My goal from the beginning was to get an A. So that's why I wondered if it was good. I did work extra hard this semester to get there but I just don't feel like it was good enough. I probably should have clarified this when I started it.

Is there a way to delete this topic so further people don't comment? I'm actually kind of sick of this. I actually cried about it in real life if anyone cares to think I am an insensitive person which is far from the truth.

Breathe, OP.

Own your grade, brush up on your weaknesses in A&P I-you will need to in order to be successful as a nursing student and as well as a nurse...along with not taking things so personal, especially where there is virtually no tone in an Internet forum; if you are still smarting from your past missteps, take a few seconds to put your past to rest, and keep it moving, because obviously you are doing well.

Best wishes.

Pinkrain,

I am a CNA and a prenursing student. From an objective male point of view and seeing how nurses of the female species interact with one another, all I can say is you need to thicken your skin. What others have been saying is way off from being cyberbullied.

I have seen several young straight out of high school CNA's get eaten up by the nursing staff. This with both CNA's and nursing staff. And if your even remotely cute, it makes it that much worse for them.

If you feel good about what you did and you end up getting into an RN program, then you know you did good.

A 88% at my school would be an A. I think I may end with an 87. I'm disappointed and wish I had an 88.

Tiffany is right and came across without it covered in rainbows and unicorn farts. We need to know this stuff 100%. Any weaknesses now will just be exacerbated further down the road. And don't equate just being super sweet with being a good nurse. As for money, yeah we are all here for money. If not, we would all be homeless volunteers.

Do you have any sort of clinical experience/direct Pt care? I would look into that. It does also help when applying to nursing school.

LOL! It is quite true. We females seem to be catty to each other. We females already know that we are. Is it that obvious in this forum topic? Yeah, I have volunteered at a hospital. I am trying to get nursing home care experience. I can't do CNA classes because that would be too much with me taking a 3 hour Mon-Thurs A&P 2 class in the summer already. You are lucky you are a male nurse as it is automatically a win situation for you because male nurses are usually accepted right off the bat after nursing school. Indeed I do need thicker skin.. for some reason I was overly sensitive about this entire thing.. ah being a female sucks. Ah well. (I personally am sorry for what I said and hope i do not get attacked in the future. I'm feeling a lot better from yesterday, had a bad day)
