My name is Sue and I just turned 31. I am attending a community college and this will be my 2nd semester. There is a 2-3 year waitlist for the nursing program but all we need is intro to A&P, intro to Chem, intro to Algebra and 12 credit hrs with a 3.0 to apply and get on the waitlist. I am excited to be in college. Wish I had done it right after high school then I would have been done by now.
a. 12 credits... A&P1, Organic Chem 1, Sociology, Health Seminar (1 credit just to be a full time student)
b. The Lab part... we use human cadavers
c. I can apply once I take the PAX test
d. Happily married with 3 kids and can't wait to be a nurse!
My name is Crystal, but you can call me Crys. I am taking A&P I next semester. I started to take it this semester but I couldn't understand my professor AT ALL. So I dropped. I am really excited about the professor I have for next semester. I haer that she is amazing. I am taking 13 credits and the non-credir CNA courses. I am hoping to start the nursing program in Spring 2011. I'm 26, live in MD and can't wait to get this thing started. I can't wait to get into the actual nursing program!
a) I'm starting full-time in a diploma RN program. don't know what exact credits are
b) really looking forward to A&P although nervous. I've got a book and I am studying already
c) I've been accepted and start March 2010
d)something random? hmmm.... my screen name 2ndnurse refers to fact that I'm starting a second career. I'm 48 - so some of the other old-timers on here have some competition (and company) :)
Hello everyone :-)
a. I am taking 10 credits next semester, A&P I, Psych and Eng 102 the last two which are online classes (I FINALLY get to sleep in Saturday mornings! LOL)
b. I'm looking fwd to all of it, always nervous when I start a new semester lol, but I am excited because I ended up getting one of the last of two seats left for the best A&P professor on my campus
c. I will be applying at the end of fall 2010.
d. Hmmmm random fact... my backup plan to nursing would be in law enforcement, I love being in the mix and on the scene, but after taking about 5 yrs off from school I came to the conclusion that nursing is my number one passion!
Hey guys, my name's Nicole, I'm 17 years old this is my third semester (if you count the summer semester as a semester) in college.
a. Next semester I'm planning on taking AP I , AP II, ENG 101 and ECN 201- for a total of 14 credits.
b. I'm looking forward to learning about how the body works... in high school no anatomy courses were offered so I never really learned anything about anatomy besides what was in health class. I'm completely nervous because I've read how intense AP is so taking both (they're accelerated courses 8 weeks a piece)!!
c. I'm applying at the end of Fall 2010 (once I get my A.A degree) and if I don't get in I have a backup plan to apply to another school at the end of Spring 2011!
d. Random fact...Well, I graduated high school at the age of 16 (but it was only 1 year early) and when I originally started college I wanted to be a nurse but after reading about wait lists and how competitive it was I decided I wanted to be a pre-pharm major.... now I'm on the fence.... but if things work out I'll probably stick with nursing
Hi, my name is Tia and i will be taking A&P1 next semester also. I am very nervous to take it cos I'm just hoping I can retain all the information. Last semester was my first since 2004. I will attemp to be a full time student this semester. Plan on applying to nursing school in August to start Spring 2011. Wish me luck guys.

Hi Nicole, i am also in pre-nursing and i am 19. I am also on the fence about pre-pharm. I think i might get my BSN work and get some experience because i want to be able to gain some experience delivering direct patient care and seeing things from the perspective of the patient if i eventually get into pharmacy. I am also considering the CRNA option too....But the Pharmacy is looking pretty good.... I figured it wont hurt to have a job while attending pharmacy school because it is pretty expensive.

That's cool I'm not the only one planning and looking into both!! We're basically in the same boat as well. What school are you planning on applying to for nursing - I'm in AZ so I'm thinking either NAU or ASU if I'm not accepted @ NAU!

Hi,
My name is Tanya.
a) I am taking 11 credits next semester - A & P I Lecture and Lab, Microbiology and Intro to Psychology.
b) I'm just looking forward to being in a classroom again, learning and using my brain. Even though I've always been a good student, it's been 3 years since I've been in a classroom so I'm a little nervous about that.
c) I plan to apply for Fall 2011.
d) I graduated with a Bachelor's in Liberal Arts but I've been working for 3 years. Had a quarter-life crisis and decided to do something much more meaningful and useful, and after researching my options, here I am!
