Hi everyone,
Does anyone have any recommendations for any A&P software that I could use to supplement the course material? I would like to get a head start on the material. I have read the posts on using the flashcards, and also the coloring book, but wanted to know if anyone uses software.
Thx

I received cd's with my A&P text, but haven't really used them. I found that doing a google search on the topic we were studying revealed an abundance of sites with a lot of good info. I also found it helpful to take online quizzes.
There are a number of threads here with great links to sites that have A&P content. Search the site and if you can't come up with them I'll dig around in my bookmarks and post some links. :)

I believe that the A.D.A.M. series of software was crucial to my understanding of the muscular, cardiac, nervous and renal systems. It is available in our learning center for use on-campus. I know there is A.D.A.M. software with their textbooks but I don't know if it's the exact same thing since the software I used in my learning center is about $400 new online.

I have the ADAM Interactive Physiology cd, which was a huge help for A&P. It has animated tutorials for the muscular, nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory and urinary systems. It makes complex topics much easier to understand. I highly recomend it!
The ISBN number is 0805360794. You can buy it used on Amazon for $8.00.

I'm finishing up an online A&P with lab this week and the class uses GetBodySmart.com a lot. It's been a big help and is pretty easy to navigate.

Do you know what textbook you will be using for A&P? If you are using Marieb then she has a really good (it helped me a LOT anyways) CD that comes with her book.

the textbook is Mariab's Human Anatomy and Physiology. ISBN 080535462X. So thats a good thing apparently! The A.D.A.M. software does look great but dont think I could bring myself to shell out $400 extra bucks..

I use what came with my Marieb text...ADAM interactive physio, a study guide CD, and a living chemistry CD. The text also came with a free 18-month subscription to http://www.anatomyandphysiology.com, which has learning activities and practice quizes for the chapters in the text. It was definately worth the money! Got an A in A&P I and a B in A&P II. One more A&P class to go for me & I'm done with it!

Hole's website has really helped me this semester in A&P I. It's free and you don't need a special code to access the material. They've got study outlines and practice tests, among other things. The address is:

I agree! If it doesn't come bundled with your textbook see if you can pick it up cheap used. I loved it for understanding the physiology component of A&P - moving pictures are worth a thousand words!! One of my kids BIT mine and ruined it and I wanted to cry, at least I was most of the way through the class.
