I've been so excited to finally get to take part in one of these things.
Anyways, school starts June 6 here. I bought my texts Wednesday (Marieb: Text and Study Guide-6th Edition; Lab-Cat Version-8th edition), and am pretty comfortable with Chapter One. I love the website, although it looks like my Prof won't be using the "My Anatomy" stuff. boo.
Can't wait to get this thread rolling. How is everyone else feeling?
Thanks a ton for the luck I may need it since Im on my way to A&P II tonite. I got an A in A&P I (found out on Saturday morning ), boy am I glad that is over!! I took Micro last spring and it was the only class that has ever given me that much agony. :chuckle Good luck to you also.
Hi I just joined allnurses.com, and I am crazy too. I took anatomy 1 and precalicus algebrea this first 5 weeks (thank god my last final is tom. )I will be starting ana. 2 Thursday night. I had no idea how much went into a summer class.
Well, got the first test back. An 82. Sigh. Could have been worse. Good news is that I now know what to expect from his tests and how to better focus my studies. Im gonna have to get A's from here on out, but at least maintaining that 4.0 isn't completely hopeless. There's still two tests (one is even take home) a lab and the final.

I did great maintaining a 4.0.......until Chem 1152!!! It kicked my butt to the curb dragging my GPA with it!!!

I start A&P I on Saturday. I am soooo thankful to get the class. I can now apply at the various nursing schools.
I am also taking A&P I this summer. I can't believe I will be done next week though. We have our lab test on Wed. and our lecture test on Thursday. I really need to be studying right now but needed a break. Good luck to everyone!! I am really nervous about the tests that are coming up. The nervous system can be confusing at places.

Just wanted to stop in and see how everyone was. Also wanted to thank you for your support. I am MUCH better now. Had my second lecture test yesterday, and got a 96!!! I can't tell you how relieved I am at a second chance. With the extra credit I've done, I now have a 94.5 average. There's hope!!
Don't have any grades back in lab yet, but I think I'm doing pretty well. If anyone wants some good mnemonics for the cranial nerves (in addition to Fun2Care's, which REALLY helped me with functions, Thanks M'shelle!! :balloons: ), I have two good ones for remembering the order, and whether motor/sensory/both. WARNING: They're kind of racy, so please feel free to skip these if you're so inclined!

So we had the lottery for our poor defenseless kitties last class. Of all the luck, my group got one of the two out of fourteen that were sent from the manufacturer "dry" aka no formaldahyde. So, going to be a bit difficult. I named her P.B., short for Poor Bast..well, you get the idea.:stone
Can anyone give me any tips on memorizing the bones in the body. I am just starting that chapter and feeling a little overwhelmed.
The method that helped me was associating a bone to something else. Like scapula (to spatula). I know it sounds odd and strange and it is. But then again I am weird too :chuckle .

I got a D on my last Lab exam. It was the bones but a lot else was thrown in. Seems like the things I studied didn't get put on the test. Lots of students in the class feel the same way. I am just determined to try that much harder tho. I got a B on the Lecture exam. Before all that I was ranked 5th in my class out of 55 and getting an A. Now I'm down to a B. I will be so glad when this class is over as will everyone in the class!
