A&P I: The Summer '05 Anatomy and Physiology Club

Published

Okay, so am I the only one crazy enough to be taking this during the summer?:uhoh21:

I've been so excited to finally get to take part in one of these things.

Anyways, school starts June 6 here. I bought my texts Wednesday (Marieb: Text and Study Guide-6th Edition; Lab-Cat Version-8th edition), and am pretty comfortable with Chapter One. I love the website, although it looks like my Prof won't be using the "My Anatomy" stuff. boo.

Can't wait to get this thread rolling. How is everyone else feeling?

I understand a professor not grading on the curve...NONE of mine have and actually I kinda agree( although my friend and I argue about this all the time ha ha...she agrees with curves and I don't)...I can see some extra credit here and there - in A+P I I did make 5 EC points on 3 tests....but 4000 times EACH for 2 EC points? Can you imagine if you mispelled 10 words by like 1 letter? Yikes! I mean hey I guess EC is EC but goodness mercy that is INSANE what you have to do.

I agree its insane. It's past 3:00 in the morning and I am still writing. My daughter wrote it 200 times today. Tomorrow I will have to enlist the help of my son as well as my daughter jut to get this assignment done. I can see writing it before the test 15 times like he has you do because you are learning but not this way. There is no learning involved now. I need to go to bed.

I was so worried about the test that I forgot to register for Fall. There are only 2 spaces open now in Microbiology. I have to be up before 7am and get on the computer to see if I can get in the class. What a stupid mistake I made. It will put me back just that much moreif I don't get in. :o

None of my instructors believe in grading on a curve and I can understand that and accept it. The one I have now, felt so bad after the entire class approached her about tricking us on her lecture exams. She basically uses completely different wording on the exam and tells us that certain things are going to be there and it turns out to be the other way around. She actually got confused with her A&PII class and gave us a few questions from that class (which we were clueless about) and the entire class got them wrong.

She apologized and said she couldn't do anything again, so she would drop our lowest quiz grade at the end and exclude it from our final grade. I have an A- at this point (the exam did it) so if I can manage to keep doing well in my practicals and quizzes these last 7 weeks, I might be able to pull the A (hopefully) if not then I will take whatever and run with it :chuckle

Hello buddies, just checking in....seems very quiet lately. Everyone must be very busy I can relate. Please stop by and share what's going on in your neck of the woods :)

Studying for the final two tests. I know I can pull off at least a C in this class but I'm studying for the B I want. Thursday, when class is over, I'm taking myself to the movies! :)

Yes! I love your positive outlook. I know you will make it despite those hard moments. I still have 5 more weeks to go and then move on to part II. I wish you the best of luck. I too had quizzes, exams and practicals back to back....while tons of homework in sociology, and humanities. I am slowly getting used to the idea I may not pull an A in A&P, but not al hope is lost. :)

I had my last test (except for the final) yesterday. I got a D!! I've never did this bad on a test, since I've been back in school!:crying2: It was over the Nervous System. When I started the test, none of it even looked familar!

On the up side, I was not the only one who did horrible. The class average was a 52%. The instructor said this is always the hardest test of the semester. More than likely there will be a curve. I'm lucky I guess, I have an instructor that still grades tests on a curve if all the classes have an average under 70%. So now I need to study my butt off for the final. I need an 82% on the final to still get an A in the class. Wish me luck!

Good luck to everyone else out there study for finals!

I think that as long as you know you did everything you could to do your best you should be happy. It is just one D, and I am sure your final grade will be pleasurable. Best of luck to you :)

Thank You!

That is what I told my husband last night. I know I tried my hardest and have done my best. I can't do anything more than that.
