Okay, so am I the only one crazy enough to be taking this during the summer?:uhoh21:
I've been so excited to finally get to take part in one of these things.
Anyways, school starts June 6 here. I bought my texts Wednesday (Marieb: Text and Study Guide-6th Edition; Lab-Cat Version-8th edition), and am pretty comfortable with Chapter One. I love the website, although it looks like my Prof won't be using the "My Anatomy" stuff. boo.
Can't wait to get this thread rolling. How is everyone else feeling?
Guess I am crazy too. We are using the same text. I started the semester on June 7 and had my first exam yesterday on the 21. Its a lot of information to absorb in such a short period of time. I only have two more weeks before my first lab practical. I am really nervous about that. I'll just study my butt off and hope for the best. Good luck to you.
Well I wish you the best of luck. My class is over tomorrow night (last test, thank goodness). Class wasnt as bad as I had thought it would be. The practicals were harder than the tests, but it my professor didnt weigh the practicals as alot of the grade. Its been a long 5 weeks. Thank god its over tomorrow..................until Monday when I begin A&P II :chuckle
Good Luck to You!!
I passed my first lab with an A and my first midterm with a 94 which is a B by his grading standards. Still that's pretty good. It is a tough class and I even questioned myself as to whether I would be able to do it or no. Now I'm thinking Yeah this is totally doable. He said the next tests would be harder. My class is usually an 18 week course and we are doing it in 6! I wish I could take AP2 also this summer to get it over with and get on and apply to school already!
Good news about my college! They just opened up another program where they are accepting students in January! Someone I know got in after only waiting 1 year! The previous wait was 2 which I just couuld not do. This at least I can consider. :)
So my class ended last nite. I just wanted to say good bye to everyone.
Oh and tell you guys about the last exam.........Class starts at 6pm, so the whole class is in the room waitin for the professor. We look at the clock its 6:20, so we agree most of us are happy with our current grade so we will leave at 6:30 and hope he forgets about the exam . Well just our luck, as we are writing him a "see you on monday for A&P II; dont fret the makeup exam" note and the clock hits 6:29 who walks in the room.......yup the professor. I felt like all the info ran out of my head during the adrenaline rush i was getting while under the impression I didnt need to remember any info cuz there would be no test!!!! :chuckle I guess thats what I get.....I should be getting my grade emailed to me by the afternoon......Ill let you guys know how it went.

Congrats on your grade and your good news of the college........
Im so excited!!! I needed a 88 on my final to get an A for my final grade. Who would have new Id get exactly a 88?! I GOT AN A IN A&P I IN THE 5 WEEKS SUMMER SESSION!! :balloons: (I feel so very intelligent saying that being everyone said Id be lucky to get a C because A&P is tough and I shouldnt dare try to take it in 5 weeks :chuckle I showed them!!) Trying to make the most of my weekend before Monday comes, then its off to A&P II for another 5 weeks.
What a great way to start my Saturday morning! :roll
Good luck to the rest of you who are still enduring the class.
Janice
Congrats r_janice!
I don't think I would have tried A&P 1 in the summer, or a fast-track. We HAVE to have an A in that class. (which I did in the spring)
I am taking A&P 2 during summer 2 though....5 week class that doesn't start until July 12th.
Good luck to you! :)

I just needed to get this out somewhere. I studied harder for this test than I have ever studied for anything. I felt so confident and the majority of questions I answered with confidence, but when I counted the ones that I wasn't sure of assuming that I got all of them wrong or maybe a few that I was sure of, there is just no way I got an A on this test. I was adjusting to that high likelihood and feeling ok a B is ok it's the first test I can still get an A in the class if I just change some study strategies etc. Then I was just napping a little while ago and woke up and immediately realized that I answered a question about monosaccharides incorrectly, and I thought I knew them so well. I'm furious with myself and paranoid that I actually got a C or maybe even a D. I'm so mad that I could work so hard, memorize so many terms etc. and still mess up like this. I HAVE to maintain my GPA especially in the sciences. I just wanna sit for the next few days and bang my head on a brick wall. I wanna blame my teacher for being so unbelievably unhelpful, but that is just a tiny part of the equation because he did come around more at the last minute and I could have just gotten super focused once he decided to spill the beans more on what topics were a priority. So, really I can only blame myself for wanting so much to accomplish too much at once and letting it trip me up.
And there is so much that I *do* know.
We get our grades back on Wed. night. I'll come back to mourn --or, in case a miracle, occurs celebrate-- then. It's torture having to wait this long.
well i am headed into my final week of A&P I. I am so lucky, I have just found out that my final test will only be over the last three chapters we studied.. YAYYYYYY. So far I have an A. I cant beleive that most of you only have a day or two in between A&P I and A&P II. I have a full week, New Mexico here I come...lol. It will be good to get school off my mind for a few days. As for the difficulty of the class, it was not nearly as hard as I thought it would be. I will report back when I get my final grade. Congratulations to all of those who have already finsished.

You will be fine. Stop stressing and agonizing. FYI: I find if a study too much (all weekend and 2 hours and day) I do worse than if I study for 2 hours a day. I do feel your pain I took a Micro exam last semester and man did I think I knew the info.....I got my first F in my college career But its okay I passed the class and stopped overstudying. Youll be fine. Just take whatever you didnt do for this exam and apply it to the rest of class: study harder, pay more attentioin to the topics the professor said, and furthermore Stop Kicking Yourself in the A$$ Everything Will be OK!!
Good luck with the rest of class. :)

Janice, the exact same thing happened to me. I have been bumbed all weekend. I took my first Lecture exam last week. I prepared myself as usual and I totally blew it. I got an 87 and that basically spells BAD. I have a 100% average in lab and 87% in lecture. I don't think I will get an A (8 weeks left). Lab is worth 40 percent of our grade and Lecture 60. I need to do better in lecture to improve my grade.
Anyhow, I can relate with you.
I wish you the best of luck.
