I know what you guys are saying! I feel guilty taking time off and I feel guilty not taking time off! However, I really do think you need to decide to allow yourself to take time off and realize that you will be better prepared to studying after doing that.

I heard one girl today saying something about being excited that tomorrow was her day off from everything. I thought it was a great idea. One of my friends said must be nice and she can't do that until after finals and I said yeah, I do take time off occasionally but feel guilty the whole time.

Anyway, I'm really tired. The A&P got me boggled today ... just because people are starting to panic and worrying outloud and moving into hyper. I am just going forward doing what I have been doing and can't let myself be distracted by those people because they make me crazy. I wish people didn't focus on marks so much (personally, I don't think I am going to share what I get anymore). I also don't like the people floating around that latch onto our study group to step over our heads (like I get the feeling they are panicking so much about getting accepted to second year that they are starting to look around and size up the competition -- I don't like that kwim?). I LOVE to have extra people to study with as long as they are supportive and not always whining about how much there is to study and how hard the program is to get into.

It just got to me today.

We dissected sheep brains in class today. We were one of the last groups and wound up having to share ... again. Oh well, not a big deal but .. it contributed to my frustrated feeling today. Also not a big deal and I likely would have done the same thing myself, but a few slips of the knife and a lot of things get wrecked. LOL .. it was actually kind of funny.

Started the day with a headache and ending with one! Ah well. Sorry I'm a downer today! Here's a picture for a little humour .. Frodo, eat your heart out!

Good to see you, I had another lecture test with my psycho teacher today about the muscular system.....his questions were so hard, many of them very obscure and hard to answer right. Many have more than one correct choice but he always says to find the BEST answer. Stupid stuff, I am so tired and try to figure out how to study best for the muscle lab test next Thurs.

I CAN"T TAKE IT ANYMORE. The nervous system will be rolled into the final....only one lecture left....how in the world will I know 5 chapters worth of nervous, sensory organ stuff!!!!! I am afraid I'll go down hill and won't be able to keep my average. It's so discouraging and frustrating. :crying2:

Hi everyone! I haven't read back so I hope everyone is doing well. I have not had much time to keep up with any forums I generally read and participate in. How is everyone fairing? We have our last lab practical on the 8th! The class we started out with is certainly not the one we end up with, we've lost more than half of the students. Oddly, we lost most early on, no one waited for the drop date.

Anyway, I am doing OK. If I can kick butt, I can probably get a decent A, if I don't kick butt, I can squeeze one out or get a high B.

Man, this class is insane. I feel more prepaerd for A&P II, but that doesn't make me any less nervous :)

I am so glad that there is someone who feels exactly like me, I am hanging with a A, two students left in the class and the poor guy has a B....just like you, if I kick butt on the labtest next Thur and final on Dec 6 I'll get an A...if not a B will have to do....

Why don't we just kick butt, how about it!!!!! :angryfire :smiley_ab :deadhorse

(Could'nt find a cool "kickbutt' smiley)

I'm trying! I was in mega burn out mode for a while there. I'm taking A&PII with Weight Training next semester. Taking I with English and working fulltime was kind of kicking my butt!

Wow, two people!? That is insane!

It's not only the amount of material but also his terrible teaching style and downright crazy test questions that make it very hard. I run around like a headless chicken the entire time trying to figure out where, what and how to study. He makes me crazzzzzzzzzy. He doesn't give any directions and evades questions from us. God help me these last two weeks.

Good luck and hang in there:)

Specializes in L&D, High Risk Antepartum, Pediatrics.
Yes, I am in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex in Texas. :)

This year 100 were accepted....50 at El Centro, 50 at North Lake.

Hey Fun2Care, are you planning on going to El Centro or Northlake??? I actually attend El Centro's ADN program, it's my last semester. Good luck if you do, it's a hard program but the clinical experience is great!

Hi chocolatrice. Welcome to AllNurses.com! :)

My first choice is North Lake. I applied with a 3.77 on the pre-reqs & a 3.82 on all 17 support credits. Unfortunately for myself, 115 students applied for Spring '06 with a 4.0.

I'm retaking my Algebra class starting 12/19, and I took Music Appreciation this semester.

If I can manage an A in the winter-mester Algebra class, I will apply for Fall '06 with a 4.0 on the pre-reqs and a 4.0 on all 17 support credits.

Anyway, good luck to you in your last few weeks, and good luck on your NCLEX! :)

Hiya, guys! Sorry I haven't been checking in as often lately! Hope everyone is doing okay!! We are preparing for our lab exam on Dec. 2nd and our last class is the 5th I believe. The exam is on the 13th I think. Fun fun!! We have been going and doing a bit of review every day so we don't get too overwhelmed at the end (well, we likely still will but at least we will have a little bit of a head start).

I am at the point of not wanting to do anything else for the night .. I'm going to get my jammies on and watch some junk reality t.v. and then go to sleep (hopefully early!!).

Take care! I will try to catch up soon!

People here celebrate Thanksgiving today, do you have such a holiday in Canada? Sicne I didnl't grow up in the US I almost always forget but my family keep me up to date on these holidays.....stuffed ourselves with good food, and I will go for a nice long walk so that it doesn't all turn into adipose tissue :chuckle

We don't have a review, can you believe it? No old tests to study from or nothing.....I can't stand it with my prof anylonger, made a 91 on the test and just have one more labtest and the final to go, also need to write an article summary which is only worth 1 measely point towards the final score :uhoh3: . Dec 6 is our last day, can't wait for it all to be over and never have to deal with that guy again. Enjoy your junk TV.

Yes, we have our Thanksgiving in mid October. However, being so close to the U.S. we get inundated with "Thanksgiving t.v." and all the great shows that come on at this time of year. I love the classics/movies/other Christmas shows that start this weekend!

Are you going on to A&P II? Ours is all one course, continuing with the physiology portion after Christmas. Actually, we are starting the first physiology chapter in lecture this week and next so ... I hope we don't get too far because I need to concentrate on reviewing the stuff I've learned so far kwim?

I'm glad you will soon be done with this prof!
